Vinomofo Wine Deals

Re: Mitolo Cantiniere

I'll have to take that statement on notice! The ACCC haven't got a great record in this area (in fact abysmal is a better word), while they have talked up increased action I for one have yet to see substantive and effectual governance take place. But we are all entitled to differing views on this.

I hear you Burmans. If there are some flagrant offenders out there, the sheepskin collared end of the wine retail world, who are constantly bending the rules without impunity, then PM me details. Others please do the same. I can say from experience of acting for big bad corporate world it's not fun being on the end of an ACCC investigation.

considering last time it was you had to wait 4 hours as they released then every 15 min i quickly screenshot them incase they disappeared.
anyway, these are the 16 deals, confused how two are sold out considering they only went live literally 3 minutes beforehand..

same old same old. nothing too special in my opinion.

OOOOO, actually the third deal went was the same wine but different vintage and price!

Re: Mitolo Cantiniere

The Exile is now $30 from rrp $60 and not $200 any more.
BTW the FU Shiraz is $40 from $300. Is this label still by Chris Ringland? Anyone tried this before?

Exile actually now $25, and falling. Quite a good drop. Not tried the Fu, couldn't sell it at $50, struggle street at $40.

Re: Mitolo Cantiniere

The expected delivery date for my case of Mitolo is delayed from 9 Oct. to 12 Oct. It seems that VM is now selling wine futures! :D

Re: Mitolo Cantiniere

Grays has the 3 oceans shiraz at auction - finishing shortly - current price is less than $3 per bottle - there is a 17.5% markup at conclusion - if anyone interested

Possums kindly get the TITLE correct. My mistake for creating the title "Re: Mitolo Cantiniere".
Now it's everywhere.
Need to go into "Advance mode"

Re: Wynns V&A Lane 212

whats your comparison to it with vinomofo wines? and your vivno rating?

Hello Beefarmer. Just picked this up. In this slippers-and-doze epoch that I now find myself in, I tend to be asleep by 9ish these days! I doubt I will see deal 16 of a Fo FaceBook Sale! Maybe that's because the kids are kicking around from 5 in the morning at the moment - bring on Day Light Savings, I hear myself say!

I digress. Back to the wine:

I drank and reviewed the V&A over three nights back in August 2015. My Vivino post read:

"Day 1: Very drinkable, with some subtle lawyers of cherry and oak, and smooth tannins. Day 2: Consistent taste and texture, boding well for cellaring potential. Day 3: The fruit really came into its own, with berries and chocolate brimming, with a dash of spice at the end. Great wine with great potential.

My Vivino rating: 4*

I suspect if I had opened this up, decanted it, and left it for a few hours, then all those wonderful fruit and chocolate flavours, and that smooth finish, would have been evident from the first sip.

At the mid twenty odd Dollar Fo price, it's a great wine, and will only get better with some extended hibernation. [I am back to the sleep theme again ...!!]

In terms of a comparison to other recent Cab Sauv Fo wines, in my humble opinion:

a. it was more sophisticated than the Wynns Black Label 12 - that was more fruit bomb like;

b. it was marginally better than the Robert Bowen 12, which was a lovely wine once the aniseed had blended into the background and the fruit did the talking;

c. it was marginally better than the Devil's Lair 12, which was similar in style, but a bit more subtle; and

d. it was on a par with the Amelia Park 12 - the Amelia Park was very drinkable and very sophisticated from the first sip.

So, it's a photo finish then in terms of these 5 excellent Sab Sauv wines from the Fo.

They all got a Vivno 4* rating from me. These are all young wines based on their cellaring potential, so it will be interesting to circle back to this post in 3 and 5 years time to see how they are developing. I suspect some will surge ahead of others, but not sure what the pecking order will be ...
