Just pressed the button! The previous 2014 McLV 2014 shiraz The Lear was stunning from Vinmofo as was the Ulithorne wine.
I'll be happy if this reaches those heights.

I agree The Lear was excellent ( only had one bottle the rest are sleeping) and did the same with Known Pleasures. I will take your word on Ulithorne as I have not tried one if you are referring to Unicus.
Cheers

Well I asked if they'd send me 6 and they said only dozens so I organised for a friend to take six...and got sent 2x 6 packs :-)

Interestingly 9 months ago the winery was offering to buy back anything from 2002-2010 at double the price you paid, if you had bought it direct...

what wine / winery are you referring to?

I've noticed that tends to happen with wines in six packs where the price is <$15/bot. VM seems to bundle two packs to make a dozen to keep the value of the purchase over $100. Pertaringa, Brokenwood, Hungerford etc all seem to fall into this bucket.

Has anyone tried the Norfolk Rise Shiraz 2014? Or any of the Norfolk Rise family for that matter?

I bought the 2008 shiraz via winemarket a while ago, and its very good. Nice acidity for longevity as well. Cool climate style, very drinkable. A couple of months ago tried their 2014 or 15 pinot gris or grigio....think it was gris....from a bottle shop. It was average.

Thanks beefarmer, am getting the Norfolk Rise Merlot, but wasn't sure about the shiraz. Was weighing up whether to risk average against the highly praised Innocent Bystander Known Pleasures 2014 Shiraz. Budget doesn't allow for both this month...am still trying to find another light and elegant shiraz like the Thistledown two roads.

Hi there!

I'm after a shiraz or cab sav quaffer. I love big, bold wines so the Penna Lane deals are interesting me. Does anyone have any thoughts on this winery? Just wondering if its worth a boom? Admittedly you cant really go wrong at $9 a pop, but i'd love any opinions.

Thanks!

I have the 2014 penna lane shiraz, and have only tried one bottle so far, from memory, well worth the price, but a little heavy on the alcohol, i prefer quaffers to be a little lighter alcohol wise. But has interesting flavour, and if you don't mind a bit of punch in the alchol %, then i don't think you'd be disappointed.

P.s. currently sipping a maverick twins 2014, but now you've got me thinking, may crack a penna lane for you shotly and let you know

Hi Miss Bick

Thanks for the advice & your dedication in the quest for research findings has to be admired!

I'm still working through a case of the Maverick Twins which has an alcohol level of 15% - i think its 2013? No label, so i cant confirm. Anyway i'm not put off by the heavy alcohol content.
