90 from CM on TWF :)
RB - is that a good score from Campbell as I don't know much of him ? If this ratings system is like a game of poker, I would lead with the ace in the form of HH's 96. Which the Fo did.
If it were a six pack, I think it would excite. 12 is just too many.

Not a great score, but not an awful review, he just wasn't as impressed as the other reviewers and show judges.
Campbell is now doing a share of the annual Wine Companion reviews, I find him to be quite accurate and consistent.
Yes, the Fo is quite entitled to not mention lesser reviews, that's where these sort of Forums come in handy to provide extra info.

The Wine Front
Agreed. Have only been a member for a month or so and have got more from it than the year I was a member of wine companion.

Great for tasting notes of older vintages that people are trying too.

I picked up a bottle of this during the BWS sales a while back but have yet to try it. Has anyone assessed?

I have 2 bottles of this sitting in my cellar (paid around $30 for them) based on HH's review. Rated value of $95 and was his 9th highest rated Red from over 1900 tasted from Aus. Havent cracked one yet unfortunately but with the return policy, I think I will have to....Boom!

I boomed but only after I'd lured a colleague into splitting the case with me. I also persuaded him to buy it which meant we got $25 off using my link and I got $25 in the kitty too.

I was seduced by the show wins and golds along with the other judges ratings. hopefully CM had an off day when tasting this.

Then, later in the day I repeated the trick managing to persuade a different colleague to go halves on the Norfolk Rise "10 Merlot with me. Has anyone else tried this approach? it works a treat. I think colleagues are more likely to sign up using your link if it's to go halves on a case with you... Might try it again tomorrow

I may have been fortunate to pay about $12.60 for the bottle I have stashed away (50% off the BWS price then 30% in any 6) but also went boom as I plan on splitting a case, assessing it and if it's not meeting my expectation then a return will happen.

I am sure it will be a cracker and no return will be necessary :) HH doesnt hand out 95+ pts very often, and I am usually in agreeance with his scores most of the time. 95 from JH and 94 from JO only reaffirms it wont be a stinker. Would be interested in hearing what CM has to say....along with HH, CM and the Winefront lads are the other critics I tend to pay attention to.

How are you going to return it, if you've already split it?

Anyway, the HH review looks positive, the JH review was really odd - I don't think he liked it, but because it's won some awards, he gave it the benefit of the doubt. CM described it as quite tannic. JO gave it 94. Probably something that needs time, and it might work out, or not. $18/bot is probably a good deal for something that'll turn out good in 5+ years.
