Vinomofo Wine Deals

I've been trying to work out today's McLaren Vale Shiraz, but I'm pretty new to it all, so not having much luck. Has anyone got to the bottom of what it is? Thanks!

Mitolo Cantiniere. It appears to be sold only by Vinomofo (in which case, the RRP is entirely artificial), and many buyers last year were unimpressed. I think the 2013 needs more time; not awful at $21 but not great value. 2014 might be a lesser vintage in that region, but so much depends on the winemaking.

Thanks so much! Based on that I think I'll pass on this one for the time being.

Finally got to open the recent Fo's Hewitson Miss Harry GSM 2013. Still a little too 'noisy' like some would say a piece from Tippett, but quaffable with a good pizza at hand. I thought it's a nice quaffable-pinot alternative (excluding the Burgundian grades), and if 3 years bottle age isn't giving it any more settling then it shan't be much more settled.
It's such a nice thing to get a low-down on what the 'Fo is currently putting out, their frequent emails regarding the latest and greatest contraband or Black market deals sorely tempt me but I have had my fair share of disappointments despite the admittedly modest sums of money being asked. Still in a quandary regarding the Little Berries GSM, I've only opened one bottle but methinks it isn't worth trying another (do VM still offer 100% refund if more than one bottle has been broached?) Must admit I quite like the Landhaus The Sinner GSM purchased from VM a little while ago, no oak and chock full of zesty fruit....

Landhaus produce very good wines with good reveiws from JH, HH, CM

If you drink more than that they still refund the 'per bottle' total.

I did this in the past with 7 left of a 12 pack and got 7xbottle price as a refund.

That's pretty generous IMHO. I can understand the "try one", "try a second one" approach, but turning a 12pk into a 6pk and refunding the difference is pretty generous compared to many other retailers.

I wonder if I can return something I purchased a few years ago which is total garbage. It has been very well cellar-ed, but is much closer to 3 years since purchase, rather than the usual 30/60 day cooling off period.

Plan B will be to donate or gift it away.

Well if VM are going to allow me to partake of a second bottle I'll give it a whirl (Small Berries) but I have grave doubts that it will bowl me over, on the cellaring for too long front, I knew an old chap who had assembled quite a fine cellar of Oz reds and whites but held onto them waaaay too long and upon opening them/giving them away to friends etc discovered virtually all of them to be utter garbage (mostly from the seventies era), he passed away not long after this and didn't get to sample the fruits of his patience (moral to the story: life is too short to drink bad/expired wine) :)

Hi All,
Recently joined the forum but have been buying VM regularly over the past 2 yrs. Have noticed not many Hunter Valley varieties, red or white. Any thoughts on this?

Has anyone tried the Glenlofty SV over various vintages? I think the 2015 was offered a week ago and the 2013 came back earlier but is now 'all gone'.

I remember having the their Chardonnay and Shiraz in mixed cases, and both were too fruitbombish. Glenlofty characteristic?

Welcome VinoMan -I'd encourage you to introduce yourself here:

Introductions

From memory at least 10 wines from the Hunter region in the last 2 years.

I'd say that number is a fair representation considering its size compared to Barossa/McLaren Vale production.
