Vinomofo Wine Deals

I tried the 2013. I believe they also had the 2014 up as a secret deal.
drumroll please............................................and what was the Ledge like AC? I bought three off a Melbourne based AFFer and am yet to try.
I think it's too young at the moment so will wait to drink.

It might be worth reading further back in this thread before you hit the "boom" button, I can only recall one person (forgive me if this is incorrect) who didn't send their case of Fox&Hounds back as it really didn't live up to its promise)....

Thanks W&D, i was just reading previous reviews about it and already decided against....

I didn't send my case back. Sure its a bit thin and weak and not a patch on last years version but for under $10 its a perfectly good mid-week quaffer IMO.

I finally got around to trying one of the Fox and Hounds I got, as posted before for a mid week quaffer i don't mind it. Certainly not awful.

Same opinion of the F+H as above. Wasn't as good as the previous year, but I had no issue with it as a mid weeker for the price paid. Didn't quite understand the people who were up in arms over it.

I don't know about being up in arms, but the picture sold didn't live up to the story. Like others. Doesn't matter if the retail is 100 or 25.
Plus its so easy to drink one and get a credit for the 12 with their outstanding policy.
A lot of us have a lot of quaffers and in this F&H case, it was simply one of those.

Now let's get you thinking. If Tom hanks stands there with his bow and arrow upon a Vinimofo purchase, what character, picture and wording would a return credit be?

This could be fun, and difficult. Lets make your comments in the Wine Musings and Amusings section.

I have just thought of one. The wine has been Tim Tamed in honour of the obvious.

Hi guys. Does anyone have an idea of what the current b;ockbuster McLaren Vale shiraz 2013 is, 120 down to 45?

Should be III Associates "Legacy" Shiraz.
It's a "made for cellar door sales (*cough Vinomofo cough*)" that was produced as an intermediate step (cash injection) between Squid Ink and Giant Squid Ink.
Apparently it does fit the bill quite reasonably for the price.

BLACK MARKET DEAL Shiraz 2014

Looks like Steve Wiblin’s Erin Eyes 2014 ‘Blarney Stone’ Shiraz and could be a good one with a bit of time. I'm tempted to look past the 90pts

Contraband Sauv Blanc

Looks like Lobethal Road

Mclaren Vale III Associates Legacy. Supposedly similar to their Giant Squid Inks, just a bit less time on oak.

Vinomofo Deal Tracker on Cellary

Wine-Muller - and Scriber - thanks for the swift response. and as Steady noted... interesting site :) Thanks for sharing that info.

Not sure I'll go for it. I'm almost put off by HH's comment that the 'parent' wine is a bit heavy-handed - though he gives That 95, which is pretty decent from him.

Decisions decisions...

Re: $19.90 2010 Marlborough Riesling

Anyone know what the $19.90 2010 Marlborough Riesling (RRP $40, 96pts Bob Campbell, 95pts Huon Hooke) is?

Agree. First time I've seen any reference to it. Who's behind it? Vinomofo can't be happy.

I doubt VM really care. Their only requirement is what they agree to with the winery - which is generally that they are not actively marketing the official wine/winery. Their thinly veiled ads don't make it too difficult to deduce what is on offer, and if you call them up they will even tell you what a black market wine is. Forums like this and 3rd party websites like the one referenced simply lead to more revenue for VM.

Re: $19.90 2010 Marlborough Riesling

The riesling is probably spy valley envoy 2010. The 7% alcohol (!!!) and the fact that spy have dealt with vinomofo before makes this the likely option. Im not buying as i havent been impressed with spy valley and neither was TWF.
