Vinomofo Wine Deals

Vedder I agree 150%. I know exactly where you are coming from. I may actually dislike that 'marketing' more than you do. Bending the truth does not still equal the truth!

I'm not really questioning that some people might actually enjoy the 'duds,' tastes are certainly subjective. I just think it's blatant false advertising on what is largely returned product.

For folks like us on this forum who monitor what they are offering it doesn't necessarily affect us, but their average joe consumer isn't aware they are buying others' returns.
Wrong quote in previous post!?!

VM aren't selling it for $45 - they're selling it for $25. And the fact that something costs a different price in another country is hardly a surprise.
Most things cost different amounts if you buy them somewhere else, especially given floating exchange rates (and thus ad valorem taxes) vary pretty much every day.
AC, all I'm doing is pointing out that a price drop from $45 to $25 is not really such a price drop when in NZ where wine is usually more expensive the price is lower.
At any rate, sorry to have been a problem for you again pal.

Piker is the point that you're making that the RRP for this wine is $26.99NZD on the WineDirect site as opposed to the $45 RRP that VM claim? Because that wasn't clear to me from your original post.

If so, I agree that's a bit of a furphy from VM on the RRP. Different countries do have different pricing structures but there seems to be a bit of shenannigans at play if the genuine NZD RRP is only $26.99, regardless of how technically legal it might be.

I think we're all aware that the "price drops" quoted on VM aren't really what you're saving, as most of these drops (when available) from DM, Cracka, WineMarket etc. are significantly below RRP everyday.

Personally, I doubt that any of the non-hidden labels are actually amazing deals - VM don't have any wholesale agreements that wouldn't be available to anyone else.

At any rate, sorry to have been a problem for you again pal.

Just because I have a comment/thought/opinion on your post doesn't mean that I think you're being a problem - far from it - I just call it "having a conversation". I'd hope we're all mature enough to cater for different opinions etc. :)

Well maybe I'm not mature enough at my age AC to understand that your first reply did not see the point I was making that Katy saw. Thank you for pointing out the problems.

So on the comments earlier about salvation cases and false advertising, although I agree about the returns v "damaged bottles" rubbish I bought one recently, considering it more like a lucky dip than anything. Somethings I see and I don't want to buy 6 or 12 not knowing whether I will like them, as we all know everyone's tastes are different.

So here is the results of the lucky dip:

Chain of Ponds The Ledge 2013 Shiraz.
Elmswood Estate 2010 Cabernet Merlot.
Fox Creek Fox & Hounds 2014 Shiraz Cab Merlot.
Capel Vale Cellar Exclusive 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon.
Capillo De Barro 2015 Malbec (Argentina).
2011 Thousand Candles.
Grove Mill 2014 Sauvignon Blanc (NZ).
Miles From Nowhere 2015 Cabernet Merlot.
Capel Vale 2014 Pemberton Sauvignon Blanc.
Monfil 2014 Grenache (Spain).
Capel Vale Cellar Exclusive 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon.
Hewitsons Ned & Henry 2012 Shiraz Mourverde.

For the $109 I'm happy with the lucky dip, particularly interested in trying the Thousand Candles and the 15s can always sleep for a while.

Vedder, I agree. Except that sometimes beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A sow's ear might be someone else's silk purse. But others would argue that a dud is the same spelled front or back.
I love a good palindromer as madam I'm adam.
Well, actually he's my brother.

And at the end of the first round ladies and gentleman, its 9 points apiece.

We are talking a measley nine bucks a bot here. Considering the above, you scored a damn good variety.

BF, I'm coming out of the Red Corner looking for Round Ten.

Have you seen the Big Dog Reds, 6 of them,on VF? Any thoughts on this?
https://vinomofo.com/wines/mixed-case/black-market-big-dog-reds

Haven't tried any of the wines but they appear to be:

  • Blue Pyrenees Estate Richardson Cabernet Sauvignon
  • Red Hill Estate Mossolini Mornington Peninsula Shiraz
  • Kilikanoon Baudinet Blend GSM
  • Mitolo Cantiniere Shiraz
  • Chain of Ponds The Ledge Adelaide Hills Shiraz
  • Rhodges picked this as the Hopesgrove Syrah - not sure if it was ever confirmed

Mine was similar, dare I say slightly better and I'm happy too.

Sorry Steady for following on from BF's statement which I believe was to inject humour!

Certainly to inject something, a little brevity thru those massive 50ml Terumo syringes.
Originally I was very excited with this new pack as the pricing appeared quite sharp, however,
you guessed it, it's a no from me. With the disgusting Red Hill and the Cantoniere making up a
third, I couldn't say no. Once again, the AFFer's (Katy here) have come to the party with the
answers.

How happy must Alzoam be. They do look good the Swannies. In for a cracking game next Saturday, and
Sunday for that matter. Go Vics !
