I was at the Hewitson CD over the long weekend to try the Mother Vine, only to be told it has morphed into a new label with a retail of $150.
They (Hewitson) thought VM had very recently or were about to sell another lot of the '13. I called today but the person I spoke to knew nothing or wouldn't tell me anything. If anyone sees it come up I would appreciate a PM

Does anyone know if there is any Haselgrove Catkin Shiraz on offer? Found an old link the gots to this https://www.vinomofo.com/wines/red-wine/mof_-secret-deal-shiraz-2014 but the price doesnt match

They had some 07 a few weeks back at a very reasonable price.

I'd agree - could be Penley Special Select Shiraz...sealed under cork and most recent vintages rate 94 by JH as per description.

Anybody know the story behind this wine or pick one up? Not currently in their Mythology/Heritage/Estate series, nor at the cellar door at Easter. Rated by JH as mentioned over the years so probably not export only either.

From chats to their staff (in an admittedly intoxicated state so the details are somewhat hazy), they have one or two wines they sell direct to restaurants & not through their traditional channels. This is mainly done to stop the 'hey, why am I getting charged $90 for this bottle when I can buy it for $40?' type comparisons from happening, apparently. I presume the Special Select is one such wine.

Kangarilla Road - either the Alluvial Fans or the Blanche Point (I can't remember which copy they used for which wine - VM have had them both up before)
