Would love to hear opinions on the latest 2016 Maverick Twins Cabernet blend if anyone has tried it?
I have some of the previous vintages. This is a quality wine from a quality producer. Very surprised to see it at 1/2 price on Vinomofo.Today's Black Market deal Vinomofo - Black Market Shiraz 2013 - Red Wine is to the best of my knowledge 2014 Nitschke Block Shiraz everything lines up from Halliday's site but the 2013 doesn't seem available anywhere other than VM (sounds tempting)...

I had this one pegged for Schild Estate Ben Schild Reserve Shiraz 2013
Matches with the International Wine Challenge as well albeit the 2015 vintage won Gold (in 2018) and the 2013 won Silver (in 2016)
Quite a coincidence, currently drinking Schild Estate 2011 Shiraz bought 2014 from VM for $13.50.
It is indeed a guess but apart from the alcohol discrepancy 14.3% instead of 14.5% (although 2014 is 14.5%) and drink by date it seemed to line up, but happy to stand corrected as I was in a massive hurry when I posted it. Schild do great gear too, so would be a good bet either way, I guess someone will eventually confirm who pressed the boom button when they receive it....I have some of the previous vintages. Is this a guess or is this confirmed?
The Nitschke note on Wine Companion is a Campbell note - not JH
Schild and Schwarz are not in the same league. In my view it's like Hyundai and Ferrari. It is indeed a guess but apart from the alcohol discrepancy 14.3% instead of 14.5% (although 2014 is 14.5%) and drink by date it seemed to line up, but happy to stand corrected as I was in a massive hurry when I posted it. In that order?Schild and Schwarz are not in the same league. In my view it's like Ferrari and Hyundai.
Schwarz miles ahead.In that order?
I have the Schwarz Meta shiraz 2014 which didn't drive like Ferrari.Schwarz miles ahead.
I find that article disturbing as Schild have generally ticked my boxes as being a producer of generous, rounded (if uncomplicated) Barossan reds at what are mostly very fair prices, the GSM I bought from VM not long ago was sent back as it didn't have those attributes, are you saying Jason that you boomed on the current offering and if so can you give an opinion on it when it arrives tasting-wise? Perhaps Roshea might oblige too Cheers....I have the Schwarz Meta shiraz 2014 which didn't drive like Ferrari.
Just to refresh some memories, Schild 2008 shiraz fiasco of creating more supply just because of some awards.
So the pedigree is there. If still available when free delivery, "boomed" for me.
Batch-bottling and Schild Estate
What vintage was that W&D?the GSM I bought from VM not long ago was sent back as it didn't have those attributes
I was the 2014 Steady, I know there are peeps on here who quite enjoyed it (from memory) but I found a bit lightweight and lacklustre and with the kind of confectionary notes that accompany GSM's but not my kind of lolly shop, but always the caveat that it as a personal matter-wine tasting. What vintage was that W&D?
