A splendid cabernet; the instantly appealing bouquet shows creme de cassis, dried herb, cocoa, mixed spice and cedar characters. The palate displays glorious fruit flavours and plush texture, firmly structured by fine, chalky tannins. This is superbly rich and graceful at the same time, with a persistent delectable finish. At its best: now to 2024. AU$70.00. www.handpickedwines.com.au. June 2018.

New BLACK MARKET Shiraz 2017 may possibly be Maverick Twins Barrel Select Shiraz 2017

$29>$11. (It seems all the Maverick Twins are now $29 RRP) Price and alcohol match, definitely a Fo Fave producer. VM already had the Maverick Twins Shiraz 2017 up at $9 and different description, so I doubt it would be that again. I'm sure anyone with winecompanion access will most likely see the 91 points for the 'Barrel Select'.

Any feedback on this one? Not a lot of info on it, is it an export label? I'm a big fan of their cabernet's.

Not a glowing review here. I have never associated "pepper grind" with acidity and reductive mention could be a concern.
A vert odd note.

Full-bodied in terms of its plush, boysenberry scented mouthfeel; belying a fresh, mid-weighted sensibility. The violet scent and thread of pepper grind acidity parlays a certain je ne sais quoi elegance. The reductive tension is just on the right side of poise, rather than rubber.
