Vinomofo Wine Deals

This caught my attention.....Any Chardy lovers out there???

A good chardy is a wonderful thing and I think if you can get one that is more sublime than good then it ranks as high as a shiraz that is sublime. Good is good but sublime is a shade less than lime.

Thinking of the Pirramimma shiraz cab:

Anyone tried this? Vivino reviews are ok at 3.9.

Is there anything cab- or cab-blend in the hidden label lot that's a better buy?
For me it is better than the straight Shiraz (fuller body and more black fruits) so I returned the Shiraz and kept these instead.

The Paladin Hill Chardy is about right for the $$'s…..Imo……….
Just blew a credit on the Nightfall Cab Sav… the '15 Dry red was better than just OK.. so we shall see..

Getting to the last of my credits now... for those that have tried all three, if you had to choose between the Nightfall, the Jim Brand and the RSR, which would you choose?

I see the jim Brand was really popular to purchase, but not many folk came back to say if they liked it?

I can’t comment on the first two, but had RSR and thoroughly enjoyed it. Could not believe it is over 10yo, still so much fruit there. It is also under Diam cork. Classy wine.

Let us know if the Nightfall is any good. I couldn’t find anything about the winery or wine maker. Sounds once again like inflated prices for an overseas market.

FYI I got a bottle of the Jim Brand off a mate to try and found it bang for buck. Dry, large tannins, medium body, gentle oak and surprisingly approachable for a young Coonawarra wine. Very one dimensional at the moment however feels like it has potential to age and develop some complexity. A solid $30+ bottle. Didn’t have anyone to split a case with so passed on buying any more.

A brand group product presented for the overseas market it seems
The nice look at me wrapping in a line up makes it a good restaurant or bbq wine… imnsho….
Picking out a quaffer last night and thought that I had very little as a take out wine for xmas parties hence the boom…..

Powell & Son Riverside GSM 2018 would be my reco. It is a great brand (had their shiraz that is a top notch) and I bet that GSM would be a nice drop too."

Tasted this GMS last night, 1st venture into a Grenache Blend, quite enjoyed it in every respect, would pick it up again & rec. to a friend. 👍

VM stil has it as above - Powell & Son Riverside GSM 2018
4.1 Vivino, $12.50, excellent VFM drop.
Note, it is the GMS as per the VM pic, not GSM as advertised.
