Vinomofo Wine Deals

What is everyone’s experience with delivery at the moment? I ordered some Chardonnay 10 days ago, and the order isn’t even picked yet, let alone dispatched. It’s my first mof_ order in 2 years, it’s not making me want to go back for more.

VERY slow! They really need to switch from Australia Post and use couriers. My business parcels sent via Sendle are often picked up and delivered same day!

Vinomofo ? Overall.. pretty good.
Sometimes they presell and so the despatch is delayed .

No.

They used to use couriers and that was an utter disaster.

Things imporved signficiantly once they started using Australia Post. Same occured for Grays wine deliveries.

Very easy to collect/redirect from Australia Post using a Parcel Collect address.

If Vinomofo go back to using couriers, I'm out.

Currently using Australia Post with poor customer experiences, me included. Wine left in full sun at top of steep driveway in full view of street instead of at front door per instructions. VM are looking at alternative solutions as meetings with AusPost have not been fruitful.

AusPost deliveries come to me via our local franchise StarTrack courier. He's a lovely bloke who is always cheerful but has the street sense of a primary schooler. He tells me all the time that "he knows we are home" which is dangerous because I work from home... When I am home... And when I am not I am not. Too many calls to my family to pick stuff up when I am away and he gives me a wave on the ring doorbell and drops it mid doormat and walks off 😢

We have of course talked about it but it's a sure chief and a smile and a nod and then business as usual the next day. I'm not sure he remembers the convo over the other 50 he has per day.

I can tell you from a human perspective as we have chatted (he's Indian, lived in Singapore for a while so we bonded over that) that he is not of means and would not recognise expensive wine and it's storage requirement.

I simply say this to point out that we have comoditised shipping down to such a low value now that it probably just isn't possible without a dedicated skilled courier who doesn't have 5000 Alibaba gadgets to deliver per day, and I suspect the price would go up A LOT.

However... Just an idea... Why don't they introduce lockboxes like Amazon's which are climate controlled and drop them off there? Surely there's scope for someone to place a few around and then hit up all the online retailers like boozebud and vinomofo and so on and get them on board? It could be an option for shipping, if you choose not to.. it's the usual

Lockboxes would be handy & better for wine on warm days. In country Vic in Winter no use at all but you might end up paying for the privelege all yr round.
Delivery by all couriers here is A1.

I agree with Dr Ralph 100%.

I have a P.O.Box, wine is delivered to the Post Office, and sits in their airconditioned storeroom, till I am ready to pick it up.

With the last of my Cellarmasters deliveries, the delivery driver managed to back into a brick pier that holds up our driveway gate, hitting it so hard, it knocked it off its base.

He then basically dropped the delivery and drove off.

Cellermasters/DM's comment was 'Sorry to hear that, the delivery company will reach out to you...'

Still waiting.

Just Received this from my VM broker

Just touching base to give you exclusive access to a couple of premium Shiraz from the Barossa Valley. We had this producer's wines earlier in the year and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
This multi-generational producer has Barossa in its blood as they have been growing grapes since the 1850's.
We have found these wines to be very elegant and nuanced for Barossa. Of course there is still loads of typical Barossa flavour and concentration but there is also plenty of restraint and sophistication to their wines.

1. BLACK MARKET SHIRAZ 2018 (pre-arrival)

Black Market 11_03_21

95 Wine Pilot
96 Points Sam Kim
'5 Red Star Producer' James Halliday WIne Companion
9/10 James Halliday Vintage Rating (Eden Valley)

Fruit for this premium Shiraz is sourced predominantly from a sensational single vineyard in the Eden Valley. The slightly cooler, elevated climate of the Eden Valley means there is greater room for development of lifted aromatics and nuance. Couple this with delicate handling of the fruit in the winery and you just have a gorgeous Shiraz. Lifted violets, herbs, black and blue fruits provide a sensational nose. The palate is incredibly silky and smooth with cashmere tannins supported by vibrant, yet rich black and blue berry fruit and an array of complex spices. Oak here is seamlessly integrated providing structure and subtle vanilla and clove.

Cellaring potential: 15+ years ( Decanting is recommended).
Oak: 18 months French Barriques (new and seasoned)

Down from $75 per bottle to just $39.90 in 6 packs.

This wine is expected to dispatch from our warehouse tomorrow

2. BLACK MARKET SHIRAZ 2019 (pre-arrival)

BMD SH 19

This Shiraz offers epic value. It is sourced exclusively from estate fruit and offers a true expression of this producer's terroir and wine making style. This wine follows a very similar style to that of the above wine as again there is plenty of elegance, lifted aromatics and complexity at play. Despite the more affordable price, this wine has still received the royal treatment in the winery with 18 months in new and seasoned French oak. The wine is again silky smooth with super fine-grained tannins that dance along a blueberry and savoury spiced palate. The finish is long and laden with vanilla and dark chocolate. Drinking well now after a decant, this wine will really improve over the next few years and age comfortably over a decade.

Cellaring potential: 10+ years ( Decanting is recommended).
Oak: 18 months French Barriques (new and seasoned)

Down from $45 per bottle to just $19.90 in 6 packs.
