Vinomofo Wine Deals

I might have mentioned a couple of months back a bad delivery. Careless Auspost driver smashed some bottles even before he removed the cases from his van. His demeanour and attitude sucked, not one of the regular delivery fellas. He was parked across the road from my home. I went out and helped clean up the broken glass and supplied a new wine case to rehouse the remaining bottles. Whilst cleaning up he got me to ok his electronic device and ended up leaving the remaining case by my letter box. It's a long walk back to the house with these cases. After deliberation I reported to VM (his attitude really sucked and I was concerned about retaliation).
Today my delivery never arrived. Just logged in to AusPost to read this description:
"Attempted delivery - Item damaged
Thu 30 Jun, 2.31pm
"

I feel I am being too suspicious to think this is the same driver now seeking retribution?
Probably just bad luck. Not sure why the driver would have it in for you? You helped him clean the mess and provided another box.

Although having said that, one of my employees in his wisdom banned the auspost driver from our site (employee is a manager, but a grumpy old man), so if it's this postie delivering, he just leaves a card in the box saying "unable to gain access" and we have to collect from the LPO 😑

...
He refused to deliver past the letterbox, 40m short of destination, and got agro when I objected.
We'll see. Just received notification the 3rd case is on it's way.

Can you look at getting a parcel locker, or perhaps delivering to a click and collect nearby?

Will be interested to hear what VM does here... we all thought it was a very good deal but with some signs of a mistake!
I assume they intended to sell the Golden Lion, but you cant just ship something completely different to what was purchased. I don;t need any more of the Lion so its going back, either for a refund or replacement.

And I suppose given there are always codes around so most orders use one, it probably won't be any skin off their nose to offer you a small token for the error. Still interested to know how they handle it

What do people expect?

They allow the fair share of abuse of codes, personally I wouldn't be having too much of a cry about it myself.

I would simply return the wine, no big deal.

Good question right there... I expect there would be a split between the righteous consumers who say mistake or no the business offered it and having to return it still is a hassle, and the easy come easy go opportunist who will just cop it sweet.

Drink a bottle, say don't like it and return it? Haha.

Normally I split orders, so I've actually never a wine to VM.

Generally, they've been pretty good when shipping has been slow but lately there's been essentially a lot of $50 codes so I can't really complain.

I personally never expect wine, if it's a price error.

Thanks for sharing. I notice it’s now sold out and no longer in my cart!

Interesting how the stock management works. I have occasionally loaded wines of interest into my cart and …. so far … they have stuck and been buyable some time later

With the amount of times the same wines get relisted, doesn't surprise me. I was searching for a wine the other day and found the same wine 4 different times for 4 different prices, all within about 5 months from VM.

Cracked the Pirramimma Geoff Johnson Shiraz tonight, definitely feel like it needs more time, so will put the others to bed for a couple of years at least.

Not a bad quaffer at this stage, but don't expect anything complex
