Vinomofo Wine Deals

Hmm...maybe it is the Parous McLaren Vale Shiraz Mataro? That got JH93, and also won a Trophy in the 2015 McLaren Vale Wine Show (best McLaren Vale Shiraz predominant blend). In the Wine Companion, Halliday lists it, mistakenly, as being from Barossa, even though the name of the wine is "Parous McLaren Vale Shiraz Mataro" - maybe that's the source of VM's confusion?

I suspect you are correct. If so, the number of mistakes in one listing is close to a new record for VinoMofo.

If it is, add alcohol by vol. to the list, too. mof_ says 14.2%, but 2014 Shiraz Mataro seems to be 14.5%.

Parous website doesn't seem to list alcohol %, and I don't have Halliday... what does he say?

"[FONT=&quot]60/40%, hand-picked, crushed/destemmed, open-fermented, 8 days on skins, matured for 12 months in French oak (40% new). Strongly regional, dark chocolate wrapped around the rich core of black fruits and tannins; there is a juicy quality that pleases."

Drink by 2034 and 14.5% alc. In addition the only "previousd 2 vintages that scored 95" were straight shiraz.

Parous rrp $40, McLaren Vale; Rapunzel $50, Barossa Valley.

More likely Heirloom Shiraz ..."let down your heir...loom" :D

It's a red herring. It really should be 'hair' loom being Rapunzel's hair. And the Producer paragraph, hmmmm. Anyway Heirloom is $40 RRP also.

I checked with VM - they mistakenly put the Shiraz Mataro scores/medals against this wine.

It is, in fact, Parous' Barossa offering and not their McLaren Vale Shiraz Mataro. I've noticed that their webpage has been updated :)

Thanks for your research AC. It was indeed one of their sloppiest listings ever in terms of facts (and the $50 RRP remains even though the Parous website knows nothing about this vintage).

I still find that VM play it surprisingly loose and fast with their online descriptors, I mean what's the blooming' point of calling a wine "Black Market" when the producer's name is right there in front of your nose (and STILL is), oh well I guess it only makes the process even easier....

I hope they offered you a free six pack of Think Outside the Circle for your troubles AC?

My two last purchases from the Fo for quite a while - provided they are not returned - have arrived. The buying hiatus has finally arrived. That French gsm with plenty of worldwide bling has landed at 6 for nointy noine buckers and so has the case of Moppity Cab with a lot of round gold labels on it. Both to try in the very near future and will report hopefully in the nice wines thread forum, not the disgusting wine thread forum.

The plot sickens.. what is that awful smell ???

Usual email hype 10 cases only ..be quick…..

Ninth Island NV $29.90 in any 6.. website says it's going going………..

$24.99 in any 1 at Dan's...

In case anyone else is a Zinfandel tragic like myself, I got a call from my VM broker today letting me know that they have received some extra stock of the Churchview St Johns 2014.

Whilst not in the same league as the offering from Cape Mentelle, I like it enough to have picked up an extra case.
