This right bank Bordeaux style blend is Merlot dominant and spent 17 months maturing in French oak. With almost a decade of careful cellaring behind it, this beauty is drinking stunningly right now with plenty of ripe primary fruit leaping from the glass. Decadent, luxurious and silky, this wine is a stunning drink-now option, and to pick up a wine like this by such an iconic producer, from a 10/10 vintage, at this price is honestly pretty incredible!

Sounds like someone made a mistake. Previous price for 2011 was approx $50 per bottle for Sophia and usual price is $119 +. Could be a entry range for Craggy Range. Sounds like the Craggy Range Gimblett.

I actually ordered this last night from their website as a black market in a 12 pack. Seems to have been taken down and offered as an email sale now.

Pretty certain it is the Craggy Range Te Kahu.

$140 for a 12 pack with the $40 discount code and free delivery.

LoL sorry guys. Late night… and a bit of knock out night too. The palate definitely improved with a lot more depth, but there was not much fruit. Nose only improved slightly with a bit of leather and lead. Which is similar with some comments on CellarTracker, however on the same forum someone else tasted a lot more fruit than me….
I am happy with the $50 price tag…
Interested to hear other’s experience here

Very much a bbq wine. Happy for the price I paid smooth yet punchy at the same time.

Whilst doing some research on the 2018 Reis Creek Shiraz 2018 – Black Market Deal #40600 happened to stumble across a rating for it by one John Clark, hmmm I thought, isn't that the same name as the Head of Buying at VM? Another funny thing, every one of his ratings is 5 star, and they are all wines offered now or in the past by VM. Much as I am enamoured by their return policy and heavy discounting I smell a rat (no, not one of those), the cynic in me would have to say that it is a great way of boosting their Vivino rating:

Great pickup and this is only the one account - who knows how many they use. Its extra smelly when Vivino is often acting as a selling agent for VM.
I'd be extra wary of any wines that are VM exclusive, with low reviews but high scores

Caveat emptor, nice to see at least two ratings from wine professionals, SK marks highly more so than JH. The others are harder markers.

I think that my issue is the overarching one of a thinly veiled effort to artificially boost the ratings for a company's offerings...

I think there'd need to be evidence of a pattern of multiple accounts for any claim of artificially boosting ratings to hold up.

A single rating isn't going to make much difference, and it seems much more likely to me that Mr Clark just personally likes some of the wines Vinomofo sells! (Shocker.) Counter conspiracy theory: maybe mof_ only sells them because he rates them five stars?

Using Vivino (or cellar tracker etc.) to track wines is hardly unusual, and 47 wines rated is probably a pretty standard number, even on the low side, for someone relatively into wine - it's certainly a lot lower a count than you'd expect if he were intentionally 5-starring everything mof_ sells.

He seems to be a very generous rater (5.0 on average) and an avid lover of VM offerings by looking at the wines that he rated!
