What's the intel on this latest iteration of Amelia*, I haven't had a recent experience of it and although a dead-set bargain at that price what are we looking at in terms of style?

As a WA Shiraz it would be quite different to your standard Barossa which I would stick to if that is your preference (judging from previous posts)

Salvation Cases are out again, It's tempting at roughly $10 a bottle & up to $500 value.

Yep it's Frankland River so cooler climate. Much less fruit than a lot of warmer Barossa wines and hence less oak needed to temper that fruit.

Salvation Cases are out again, It's tempting at roughly $10 a bottle & up to $500 value.

4 weeks and still waiting for my vino stuck on a train in the middle of the desert and no news from Aust Post.

Pretty sure there will be plenty of salvation cases rolling out with heat damaged wines floating around.

Yeah, mine was sent back to VM. They've shipped it back to me!

They gave me $20 credit, and a $30 voucher. I spose that's nearly half the price of the case.

I could try a bottle, and send it back? I mean I have 12 months, I'll just have to make note.

I posted something about a master of wine, freezing a bottle of wine and then leaving another bottle of wine in direct sunlight at 40 degrees for a couple of weeks and then having a standard bottle from the cellar and he couldn't really tell the difference.

I think it takes alot of heat, or extreme conditions to damage wine.

Best we can do, is make a note within that 12 months to try a bottle. VM has a great return policy.

I don't mind mixing it up and have a very strong leaning towards Margaret River Cab Savs (which are often the best in the land in my humble opinion), but you're right in thinking that I like my Shiraz to be built on the generous side. I have bought the wine in question previously but even back then there was a bit of chat about its quality/vintage, for eg:

I bought a few cartons of the 2014 and really enjoyed it. So bought 3 cartons of the 2017 when it was released and returned them all. Very different wine that has lost the deep purple hues and has turned into a thin tasting "see through" wine if that makes sense. Very disappointing. Will be visiting the Amelia Park cellar door in a few weeks so will give it another tasting/

The first couple cases had some wines from a higher rrp than the last one I bought. Probably 12-18 months between purchasing. Last case wasn’t that sexy tbh. I found a mix of 7 reds and 5 whites per dozen. Here’s a few from the first two cases I got, forgot that I made a quick list at the time.

My thoughts exactly. Also hoping if I order this it might turn up before my Howard park that has seen more time traveling Australia than I have in the last two years!!!

I haven’t had this particular one but did have Murphy-Goode Liars Dice Zinfandel 2015 from Sonoma California.

I really enjoyed it but felt it was on the wrong side of its drinking window so not sure how this 2012 Zin will fare.

If it was 2018-2019 I would definitely consider it
