My day has not been wasted. '' When i bought the bottle it said 13.5% alcohol your honour and so I enjoyed it thinking I was safe to drive". Look young man", well the judge was nearly one hundred so everyone's young, "You didn't have to drink three bottles now did you !" Guilty.A variation of + or - 1.5% is allowed by law from what is stated., so you may actually have 13% or 16% ABV.
Of course I did know that on a wine label, only varietals with an ingredient content greater than 15% have to be mentioned. As you may know, Penfolds Grange has had Cabernet in it for many, many vintages but we all knew it as Grange Hermitage didn't we. Sometimes 11per cent king of the grapes in the Grange.
