Everything about this wine oozes premium Barossa. Grapes are hand harvested early in the morning to ensure freshness, then left to slowly begin fermentation via natural yeasts.
Agree. I should have been more specific. Mine were not current vintage but Carwyn Cellars is selling the 2020 vintage at the price I posted. I would have used a code to lessen the price when bought.
A humble afternoon tasting at the mof_ bench was quickly interrupted when this wine was poured. Suddenly, all attention was caught, and the moment savoured.

This is actually a pretty good wine for $15, forget the $80 fantasy RRP. Certainly better, more substantial body and tannin structure, than the Undercover. I've bought 2 dozen so far, with codes and they mostly go into quaffer packs for friends, but I'm happy to drink it myself and have some in the cellar to try over the next few years.
I know the mods will probably move this but out of curiosity have we ever had a get together where we taste some wines? We could have a vinomofo tasting

I bought some a year ago. Really delicious wine but bit pricey I think at $39.90. I think mine was about $30 after applying some credits. Bought some of their Eleventh Hour (also very nice but not as spesh) for $20 a while after.
Big and brash and bursting at the seams. This is the real deal - expertly crafted Barossa Valley shiraz that hasn't lost any tone or definition with age, and will stride confidently into the next decade.

Ray Jordan review here "This is a cracking wine sourced from the Barossa. The concentration and power of the fruit has meant a decent hit of oak has been required. It’s gobbled it up easily, with the 24 months maturation in a mix of used and 34% new French working in seamlessly. Red berry and dark chocolate with a spicy edge creates a harmonious mix that is full-bodied yet soft and generous."

Haven't had either but some Devitt and Moore was part of a pack of lies hyperinflated RRP Mystery Box I got a few months from TWC that caused me to rant at them about misleading advertising until they took it back. I think it's quite likely to be one of those $20-25 wines that has its RRP pumped to idiotic levels so it can be reduced to about $30-35 and then reduced further with referral/site credits to about $20-25. Call me cynical about the internet wine game these days...

I'm keen to not bury the lead on this one, so here goes: this is matured in 50% new French oak for 20 months. Lovers of luxury, eat your heart out.

I thought it was fantastic Barossa shiraz Huge nose, old fashioned massive fruit bomb, well layered and long finish.Definitely the best Barossa shiraz I ever got from VM.
CW are clearly engaging in misleading and deceptive conduct with their unrealistic RRPs and sharp discounts to fool the public into thinking they are getting a bargain. I wonder why ACCC never looked into such conduct.

Because it's (relatively) too small and the only people actually being hurt are those careless or ignorant enough to buy at the high price where offered.
Some merchants play it fair though. I have a friend who was a little confused one day when ordering from Winestar and bought both the cheap (Mystery wine) version and expensive (non-mystery listing) of the same wine. Winestar contacted him to inform him they were both the same and adjusted the order to the low price.

The first cases of wine that I ever bought were from Winestar and I have always found them to provide good service (as in the case reported by RB) and offer reasonable prices, so I'm happy to give them a plug. Never tried to send anything back, however, which is (of course) the single advantage of dealing with VM.
