Going to have to try the Blackbutt a try as well, I have it but haven't opened it up yet. It's on the list!

Has anyone tried the reschke reserve cab sav? Curious how it compares against the RSR.
Reshcke is a Coonawarra, Alkoomi is Frankland River. Luckily for me I love Cab Sav from both regions! The Reschke wines are good for me, love the RSR and BOS

I'd rate it much much much much much much more highly than the RSR. To my taste, this is a refined aged WA cab. I know there are fans on the RSR but to me the 2013 RSR was a strange fruit-bomb for an aged Coonawarra cab. Reminded me of aldi chocolate - seems ok at first but then there's something just a bit odd about it. (The clean cork also freaked me out a bit, but who ever said age meant bottle years!)

And totally agree the Blackbutt needs a good decant and aeration. So it should! I did the old pour it hard into a jug and pour back into the bottle with enough taken out that it's not at the neck, then sit for 45...

I should have added, the Blackbutt is a bordeaux blend, not straight c/s, which also makes it a more interesting thing imho.

Thank you, really appreciate the reply. I guess I'll have to check it out!

I'm also on the Reschke bandwagon, the Reserve is good. The Bos even better, a step up is the RSR and then Empyrean.

I only have RSR and Empyrean. RSR 2020 is ok for $13 but I think that would be my last, Empyrean (2010 and 2014) are fantastic. I prefer 2010 maybe because they are made to last and need proper ageing.

If you get a good deal on the Bos and Empyrean you can't go wrong. The 2014 RSR though are great, yet to try a 2020 so with a few more years on them you'll notice an improvement, agreed on the ageing.

Wood Park Zin is back! 2021 this time around.

The 2019 was my VM wine of the year from last year, loved the fruitcake-ness of it.

Now just need one of those codes!

Ok, so I managed to find a code that worked by going to this link

and clicking on the "random" button on Referral Links. Took me probably 6 tries to get a $25 code.
Give it a go and see if it works for you.

Can you remind me which are the $25 ones? is it the ten character ones?

The economy is being felt by everyone including the larger winemakers as people cut back.
My mortgage broker said in his monthly email that it's only those with housing issues that are feeling "the economy". The rest, a much larger chunk of the population, are "blissfully employed and going about life". There's been some good buying recently so long may that continue in these tough times.
