I polished off 2017 and 2018 and now making headways with 2019 sixer. One of the better VM offering IMHO

Pinot but with more power. This is a bit special to be honest. A really smart wine capturing the elegance and poise of a great pinot noir whilst adding a bit of grunt. Medium to full bodied with a good lick of oak and evident but graceful tannin. Who said you can't have pinot with steak?

This arrived today labelled as Joss Bay Barrel Selection Pinot Noir 2020, not The Canyon.
I've contacted VM for information and to ask for the Michael Cooper TN.

Update: VM claim this is the Tarras The Canyon re-labelled for the Aus Market, ie for them. They are trying to get the Michael Cooper review as they didn't have it on hand, seems they trust their supplier.

I haven't received the MC TN yet. But I did try a sample last night via Coravin and wasn't overly impressed. It's a big style Pinot (don't mind that), but lacks classic Pinot aromas and flavours, non-descript light dry red almost, and it has a strange tingle on the tongue, not spritz, but certainly there. Will try again tonight.
Also tried Neck of the Woods Pinot Noir 2021 - Red Wine at around the same price and it's no lightweight either, but shows more varietal charm and character in a better balanced package.

I suspect the Joss Bay will be going back.
