Hoping for:

- Star Alliance
- Max-8’s being ditched
- SQ points transfers being reinstated (Velocity->KrisFlyer)
- Widebodies returning (international medium/long haul)
- More domestic lounges
- Improved catering in domestic lounges

Probably will get:

- New uniforms (yawn)
- New livery (yawn)
- New seating config options for domestic narrow bodies new/future
- New $ bolt on packages for everything as per their market research groups
I’d say 0% chance of anything you are hoping for happening even though I’d like to see most of those things happen too😝

The MAX’s are coming like it or not

What are the chances of the MAX8s operating CNS-GUM-HND just to squat on 'that' HND slot. :oops:o_O
Although as another poster said, the rumours say it'll pretty much be the 'backpackers express' carrying military folks that would've flown the old UA CNS-GUM service.

Apparently the slots have to be used this year so unless there's a max 8 that's secretly arriving into BNE next week then we will have to see.

I’d imagine the existing fleet could do it. They’re both fairly short flights that have been done with 737s previously

Both routes well within the range of a 737-800, even BNE-GUM is in range (slightly shorter than SYD-DPS).

If you look at the supposed longest 737-800 flight (PTY-EZE) even POM-HND would be in range so a SYD-POM-HND service could work.

But regardless, flying a narrow body internationally with a refuelling stop is hardly ushering in a “new era”, more harking back to times gone by … and isn’t really Instagram worthy, ao somehow don’t think it will be the subject of the announcement.

My wish list would include *A membership only. Everything else is bearable, IMHO

Can confirm its been postponed due to a spike in c19 cases and the flu. Lets see if they will announce something or not next week.
They could still announce it tomorrow via a media release, don't you think? It's not like the covid cases will drop next week or the week after or a month later for that matter.

exactly, QF specialise in using the covid excuse, seems VA now using the inconvenient excuse.

Obviously something else is the hold up, ah well.

Yeah they definitely could. We'll just have to wait and see next week if they decide to. I mean I think 90% of the company was looking forward to something being announced.

Yeah, I'm not buying the covid case spike as a valid excuse. Something else is at play here.
I mean we are holding plenty of events right now with tens of thousands of people and this is a hangar event with just a small number of people and that's been called off because of covid? I don't think so.
Something else is delaying it.

Maybe the 787's aren't ready yet 😂
