With the event being pushed back, to me I expect it's more a sort of PR event.
Could be wrong, but when VA came out of administration there was no gliz or glamour event. Now they're back on their feet, expanding and from my experience flying very full aircraft a "new era" event is simply a (much delayed) launch event.

I'm not going to make a big thing about the Banzai idea, but I think they do have agreements with airports for cheaper access and there a fair bit of IP I guess. But if there's isn't much there, it won't cost much to take out a possible competitor on the lower end of the market 🤣
If anything, If it does come to worse for Bonza, I suspect the Singapore Consortium of Private Equity and Businessmen behind REX(Jet) may be the 'acquiring party' of Bonza if it fails to get off the ground.

The only thing that PAG/Singapore would be 'acquiring' if that scenario happened would be the 737Max slots from Bonza's appointed lessors, that would pretty much be it.

I wonder if we can have a friendly wager on how many pages of discussion we get to to, before the actual/real annocement?
Not sure how long it has been postponed but will be interesting to see who has the stamina to keep it going.

What a comically lame excuse.
This is VA after all.
Remember when PS "had" to put VA1 into VA, due to covid, but not mentioning its "real reason", it being financials.
Maybe they are not as bad as QF in some regards, but they are all much of a muchness.

Looks like its on for Tuesday, with a competing event ... see here:

Tomorrows function is just to announce the UA/VA partnership using the inaugural SYD-SFO flight to kick off the partnership.
The event in BNE is still going ahead at a later date

Basically a few radio interviews of JH, who is there with a UA marketing manager, plus a cupcake donut cart at the gate of UA870 celebrating the start of the partnership. Relatively low key.

Its baaaaack

Friday 22nd July.
Possibly announcement of 'enhanced' SIA relationship - head of Velocity commented a few days back that both SIA & Velocity keen to reinstate transfers, 'watch the next few weeks'. Of course, after SIA increases cost of Krisflyer paid flights this week.
