I did see the fee increase somewhere. Maybe a statement.

Sent from the Throne

I applied for the fee increase last month and it was just before the 12 month period and got a decline and then in the mail on the same day I got the decline letter I got a letter of an offer to increase my limit. WTF.

I think I'll cancel my card. The 21 days minimum to book flights is a bit frustrating.

I called to cancel today and was told the 'relationship' team will call me to discuss my cancellation.

I said I wasn't happy with the increase of $30 on the annual fee, nor the $1500 cap on 1:1 points earning on the Flyer card.

I only got offered $50 off my annual fee (high flyer though) or a reduced balance transfer rate.

Unluckily I also got a new card due to fraud. The new card design is a whole lot worse than the old. Uggglyyy

They haven't called me yet. Hopefully they do in the next day or so, otherwise I'll be calling back.
Plutonus, did you get put through to another team?

Yes, through to a 'relationship manager'.

A relationship manager just called me. They offered me $50 off the annual fee, reducing it to $79.

Overnight, I also received a double points (ie 2 points per dollar up to $1500 /mth, then 1 point per dollar for $1501+ / mth) offer for 15 November - 15 December. I've decided to keep the card as I will spend exactly $1500 in that period (3000 points) and can then book more than $79 worth of "2 for 1" Virgin Australia flights.

I got this card just before Christmas for the 0.99% balance transfer. Asked for a $20,000 credit limit and I have balance transferred $16,000 already which was the maximum I could balance transfer.

The offer was for 7,500 Velocity points and another 7,500 Velocity points for $500 (?) spend in first 3 months with annual fee of $129. Not sure if I will spend that much on card as I do not want to book any more Virgin flights and the 2 for 1 offer is useless as well as I only ever travel alone. The balance transfer though makes it worthwhile....

you could book the 2for1 though JohnK and have a seat for yourself and possibly get double the number of SC's!

Just like business class on the Embraers but much cheaper? ;)

But you are quite right in that I could book the 2 seats and if I get the double SCs then it is a bonus. That would be OK if no need to pay the taxes on the second seat though. Wait and see.
