Virgin 737-8 Max Business Class - No Divider

So after all this time they admit, not even got a design yet. So much for its all in train to be delivered - NOT.
To be fair, the offshore customer care team which that email is from are probably not privy to the design details and timeline.

What do you know about the SOP? it does allow crew to allow others (Y) to use the toilet though.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Well… the SOP came straight from the airline.

Yes, I’d expect there to be flexibility. Those with special needs or infirm should be able to use the closest WC. Other pax should know the drill… go before or after the carts have been in the aisle, or select a seat at the rear beside the WCs?

It seems to be an issue of pax entitlement. When there’s a barrier, i’ve seen zero main cabin pax come forward. Without the barrier, they sometimes come forward despite the announcement their WC is located at the rear.

Funny thing is, it's not correct 😂
It's definitely entitlement though.

"I'm sitting in economy X"
"It's so far back"
"Economy X should get to use it"

That's the problem isn't it? Mis information and joined up SOP lacking...you are actually admitting it. That's a shame. The blurb posted states quite clearly!! 🤣 so expect CC to be asked why they are not adhering.

I held off having a look at this thread because it booked as though it was going to be one on more trivial things on AFF.

No so!

One of the odder things I read here is that it’s the people that are flying economy who are complaining just as much as those who might fly business! 🤷‍♂️

Just an observation. Physical dividers, curtains etc. don’t stop economy passengers to using the forward toilets. Not Virgin domestic not Qantas domestic not international.

CC will tell you the experience is quite the opposite, I think you'll find.

It's far more effective than not having a barrier.

@twinaisle ?

Personal experience over 30+ years tells me it is the case. And yes, having a divider will be more effective but I wasn’t arguing effectiveness. I was saying dividers etc. don’t stop economy passengers coming forward.

Ah yes, you'll always have the odd pax that will try/succeed but can't do much about that :)
I think the issue is that not having a barrier of some sort inadvertently invites passengers to use the front WC.

It's the same as "don't touch"...followed by "how did I get hurt or burned" or "don't cross...water under bridge" to find car is stuck or floating (rather common in UK). However it probably stops the masses using or even if it stops one that's good. It needs to be better monitored on board.

The information provided is wrong hence why. Some don't allow, we then get abused. You work 4 flights a day and get abused 4 times a day over the toilet quick wears you out.

Having a barrier is definitely effective. The barrier does what it's designed to do.

Remove it and it's a different ball game as everyone has seen. People don't listen to p.a, people are entitled, it's an open cabin so they'll come up.

There's only so many times you can be in the galley. People will take advantage when there CM leaves to go check up on the crew or what not. People see, people do.
