Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

I'd much rather have a lunch menu at 11am ish (by the time pax would have been provided food) than breakfast.
I think it would be more odd to have breakfast anytime after 9am/10am, personally.

Last minute booking (1 hour prior departure) as JQ cancelled my flight. VA832 on a brand new max - 10 30am departure. We got served lunch which was a bit odd. I was the last one to be served so I got the lamb risoles which were good.

Apologies, clearly I won’t be a travel reviewer… I was halfway and realised I hadn’t taken a photo. Probably it was the lack of breakfast and last minute booking!
Has to be serious contender for 'Worst photo of J cabin meal for 2024'.

Out of interest, How'd you book it 1 hour prior, cash or reward available?

Alas, quite common on long hauls where you might get breakfast at 7pm!

I’ve consoled myself that my stomach doesn’t really know the difference between an omelette and a soufflé, or hash browns vs mashed potato.

I can't show a photo of a meal on VA 955 from MEL-SYD with STD of 3.30pm as I couldn't eat the option of either kang po chicken with rice or veg curry with rice. I can't eat a dish of rice because it causes gastric distress :( FA said that 2x rice options were common - but not in my exp! - so no food other than 3 small slices of cheese.

So after about a dozen flights with VA in the past year I am yet to eat a dish with protein as all I could eat was the veg option, but rice or rice is a new low.

That’s a shame? Can’t eat meat either? I usually leave all the carbs/starches anyway, only eating the protein and greens.

Good old Thai green curry and a new one I haven’t encountered yet, eggplant ragu. I took the latter. CM dropped off beverages with the cheese and crackers first then meals came out later. I liked that approach.

Meal was great, passion fruit cake with whipped cream was delicious too.

The pink stuff with the pita bread, I have no idea what it was, ate it anyway. Resembled hummus. Let’s call it pink hummus.

My 10am mel to syd flight the other week was serving lunch at the time as well, which is good as I didn't want breakfast.
