Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

That lamb rissole is actually a pretty tasty meal. I had it the other day and enjoyed it. The other one I've had recently is a teriyaki veg with rice and that is also not too bad, I think it was meant to be offered with an optional protein but wasn't.
I had a family member fly J recently and commented on a lamb rissole dish - was said to be the best meal they have had on a domestic plane in years.

I just had TWO helpings of the Lamb Rissoles. One up and one back same day. Absolutely delicious. I’ll be attempting to recreate at home!
I'm doing OOL-SYD-OOL next week and pretty sure they'll reload the lamb rissoles as a double. Might emulate your feat. :D

Exact same plane, exact same seat (2F), exact same meals - kung pao chicken and some variation of pasta with mushrooms in it. Being in 2F, I missed out on the pasta flying out, but managed to sample it on the way back thanks to two passengers not opting in for lunch.

Also did you know the Virgin Australia napkin is v2? Not sure what improvements there are from v1 ...

VA913 | SYD-BNE | 0730 Departure

Opted for scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon mushrooms, tomatoes and beans on sourdough which was decent. The tempting alternative was a coconut crumpet with berry compote and mascarpone.

Service attentive and very polite. Orders taken and served 1ACDF, 2ACDF.

Another example of the beef short rib from late January, forgot to post at the time. It was decent. BNE-MEL flight included a small cake which I was surprised by.

Probably wrong catering as BNE wouldn't have dessert loaded.

4 J flights in last 2 weeks. Forgot name of them all so apologies there.
The egg on round roll with chorizo was a ripper, simple but one if not the tastiest in flight breky I've had.
For the seat lottery, 1D 1F we're taken first and delivered first on each flight, where I was sitting.
Great service on each flight, all very happy with FA staff.

Lunch on today’s BNE - DPS service.
First an appetiser of Harissa hummus.
IMG_7709.jpeg

Mrsdrron had the chicken with spicy potato. Said it was OK but the broccoli had died an unnatural death.
IMG_7712.jpeg

I had the Thai vegetable curry. Dried out and quite bland. I had to add pepper to get any taste.
IMG_7713.jpeg

The wines were fine. Mrsdrron had a Pinot Grigio.
IMG_7714.jpeg

And I had a Petaluma Pinot Noir.
Service though was excellent. Great FA who chatted with all the J pax but was ready with refills etc and always keeping an eye on what was happening.

Flew on J MEL-CBR on VA 281 this evening using one of my WP upgrades.

Orders taken on the ground while we were still at the gate 1A to F and 2A to F. Only 5 passengers so all options available to everyone.

Was offered a chicken and potato salad or a “Asian” salad with optional chicken. Went with the former.

Snacks were offered after the main meal. I asked for pretzels and got given a whole bunch of snacks! Other passengers received similar treatment so I suppose they were really keen to get rid of some snacks!

Vegan pasta SYD-OOL (the flight attendant was making an apologetic face when describing it 😅). It was fine, but the noodle salad in the lounge was better

Edit...oh! The pics won't upload

Two flight attendants were three metres away when the overhead lockers were stuffed to capacity by whoever and not a word said.

Thats just a bloody lazy VA.

The FA was invisible for much of the flight

They may have been a bit crook. We all have bad days. Let's hope it's not a lack of management prowess at the airline with the boss pulling the pin. Decisions do reverberate organisationally.

No. Merlot. Just do Merlot.

Bloody hell, VA, can you do better than this? Go into any grog shop, and the merlot section is the smallest. Why? It's not that popular.

Wifi was claimed to be available on the outward and inward flights

You'll be awarded a PhD before you can get the VA Wi-Fi connection to work.

I never stress under these circumstances - just enjoy the Merlot while waiting to use the J loos or find something from your luggage in row 21.
.
I retained platinum on this status run

Sometimes, you must wonder why. But then again, if you didn't have this hobby, you would need to find another.

I think the original poster was saying he wanted merlot, but they only had shiraz and pinot noir. Of course, shiraz and pinot noir are the correct options for VA to offer.

you are lucky you can get business at all. For a 3hr20min flight Perth to Darwin and back. NO BUSINESS!!!!!
You can go via Adelaide and take all day at twice the price if you need business especially for the SCs to maintain status!!!
