VA874, the early evening 1800 hours SYD down to MEL on Monday 28 October 2019 took off at 1856, about 41 late. Arrival is predicted as 2016 hours, also 41 minutes behind the schedule. VH-YIY is the B738.

Kicking off November, the Friday 1 VA1291 (scheduled 0855 hours MEL - CNS with B738 VH-YWD) took off at 0959 so a 46 late, 1206 hours arrival is the forecast.

MEL has winds gusting to 43kmh with the airport looking like it's on single runway ops, never helpful for timekeeping.

VA1590, the 1010 hours NTL - MEL took off at 1058 with VH-VUE so arrival should be at 1227 hours, 42 minutes late.

A332 VH-XFH is on VA830 (the timetabled 1000 hours SYD - MEL that was up up and away at 1054), so at gate arrival should be roughly 1212 hours, 37 late.

VA819 (Saturday 2 November, the 0800 hours MEL - SYD) has been cancelled.

B738 VH-YFF on VA204 (0605 hours early morning ADL to MEL) took off at 0629, only about 10 - 12 minutes late, but arrival is delayed to 0829, 34 late as it has to use runway 34.

The HBA up to MEL VA1313 has VH-VOQ with an 0830 hours arrival at gate (half an hour behind) the prediction. It is rainy in MEL.

MEL looks to be on single runway ops again, as it was yesterday. Saturday mornings are typically not as busy as weekdays, but Spring carnival racing creates some passenger demand. Many aircraft are holding on approach. It's rainy.

Also on 2 November, VA1371 (1450 hours LST - MEL up up and away at 1520, about 15 - 18 ate) is arriving at 1638, 43 late with B738 VH-VUK. Poor weather in MEL (plus continuing single runway ops) is the cause.

Not far behind is VA1594, the 1425 hours NTL down to MEL, airborne at 1459. VH-UR should arrive at 1641 hours, 41 behind.

VA273 on 2 November has an extensive delay with this 1435 hours mid afternoon flight taking off at 1904. Arrival should be at 1954, 229 minutes late. Delays of this magnitude may indicate that the rostered aircraft had failed. Good that the flight still operated.

The 0900 hours Sunday 3 November VA319 (MEL - BNE, B738 VH-VOS) was in the sky at 1002 with arrival deviating from the timetable by a predicted 46 minutes to 1056.

With a thunderstom about to hit MEL by the looks of tyhe BPOm site at about 2015 hours on Monday 4 November, VA874, the 1800 hours SYD - MEL took off at 1902 with B738 VH-YFT and should be at its arrival gate by 2019, 44 minutes tardy.

Thursday 7 November 2019's VA875 (B738 VH-VUP, the 1800 hours MEL - SYD) took off at 1850. Predicted arrival is 2000 hours, 35 minutes late.

The SYD across to ADL VA436 has B738 VH-VUJ with at gate arrival likely at about 2029 mid evening, 34 minutes late.

VA284 (1830 hours CBR down to MEL airborne at 2026) has B738 VH-YFH with arrival set for 2030, 50 behind schedule.

VA807, the 0630 hours MEL - SYD on Friday 8 November has been cancelled, as has VA257, the 0700 hours MEL - CBR. VA313, the 0800 hours MEL - BNE is in the same boat.

This afternoon, VA331 (1400 hours departure) is another cancellation on the MEL to BNE northbound route. VA853 (1500 hours MEL - SYD) has also got the boot, as has VA869 (1715 hours MEL - SYD.) An hour later, VA877, the 1815 hours ex MEL also timetabled to go to SYD has been cancelled.

Sydney is predicted to have winds intensify today to 45kmh while Melbourne is expecting possible hail so some of these cancellations may be due to ATC limitations
