Virgin Australia E190 Business Class

aisle seats in row 1 & 2 are ALWAYS blocked off, only ever 4 business class guests onboard
This now seems to be the case (as distinct from my "business" E190 flight last last month when I could select from 1A/C/D/F).

I just checked a booking for an upcoming E190 flight in business, here's the selectable seating:

If they are going to block the seats they may as well remove them and put in proper seats in their place with a bit more width. Not sure the best way to go about increasing the pitch though.
I would hope so, or even better go 1x2.

I have a Business E190 flight in May with SWMBO.

This is what one sees if booking for 2:

Couldn't see, sorry  Was on a small side plate. The J passengers asked about breakfast but were told that finished earlier and lunch wasn't served until later.
They were offered anything from the main menu but declined.
This is pretty disappointing especially flying ex-NTL ( and similar airports) where no opportunity to graze in the lounge beforehand.
I think the E190 is very far from J class in terms of hard product also.
Almost forgot:
Seemed to be a new announcement today that the forward toilet was for the ( up to 4 ???) business class passengers and the rear toilet for everyone else.
Now that's what I call a "throne room"
;)

I travel on the early flight from Cairns regularly and the flight is full. The schedule dosnt make sense. This is what I would do:
EX CNS
Early Morning - 73W - Conecting Pax and Locals
Miday - 73H - Conecting Pax and loads of Tourists
Evening -E90 - No Conecting P

Seems rather strange. Why wouldn't they refit the aircraft if they want to sell business class? Do they have the bulkhead in the ejets yet?
I love the embraers, and pick them over 737 if I have the choice. Also, Im a cheapskate, and dont pay for J tickets, so I guess my POV is irrelevant :)
On that note, there is no way, if I actually chose to pay for a J ticket, that I would be impressed with that setup.
I can see why they are doing it, ie. they use these jets on routes that dont offer J, so they need to be versatile, however, they really need to keep them on specific routes that dont offer J, rather than offering a substandard J product.

Just have to wait till february to see what they have in store. Hope they have a 1 - 2 configuration. Hate the 2 - 2 idea with a passion.

My Friday evening 737 from SYD has changed to an E90:evil:

Last Friday I flew on DJ 943 from SYD-BNE,the flight left at 1:00PM and it was full-and it was an E190,prior to the flight Virgin was quoting
$1055.00 for ABX-BNE in J -on an E jet with no real J seats or amenities, and no IFE and paid for refreshments.
and Virgin want me to pay $1055.00 for the privilege?
Sorry Mr Borghetti not this little black duck.
Cheers
N'oz

Yesterday I was on an E190 ADL-MEL. Most flights were sold out several days in advance, likely due to the cricket, so I was half-expecting a bump due to overselling. Got to airport and kiosk gave me row 2 and I figured I had been opupped.

On board the plane had not been re-configged, the old PE red seats still in rows 1-3, no divider. Rows 2-3 all 8 seats were allocated - basically they limited business to row 1 and then had economy back from there, so I got the seat but eco service. There was a couple in row 1 who initially were in the 2 windows, but the CSM let them sit together on the same side.

Watched the service and it was pretty unimpressive to be honest, it was an afternoon snack, but rather unsubstantial. I was bemused when the CSM gushed to them "are you ready for din-dins now? maybe some snacky-wacky?" I thought VA were trying to get away from that kind of image. Overall I would be avoiding E190s for now.

Incidentally I was asked by the rear FA if I wanted a free drink, but not offered food to purchase.

I think it pays to remember you were observing this from afar, it may be an inside joke between the guests and the CSM or the CSM may know the guests or fly with them regularly.

But what you see is your impression. It is VA's fault that you see a bad image

Alliance are going to be operating some Virgin Australia flights with a couple of F100's in VA livery, something to do with E190 refurbishment. Most likely for them to get re-painted and re-configured.

That's not proof of anything except a drawing of a plane. A good one, but it's still a drawing. Nobody has said they will wear virgin couloirs, just they will operate on behalf of virgin. Just like they have for Qf for god knows how long

Yes it is correct.VH-XWM and VH-XWN according to other boards will operate BNE-CNS,NTL,PPP,ROK from 13 feb. They will be painted in Virgin colours.

Nothing to do with E-190 refurbishment, but more to do with expansion of trunk routes by replacing 2 x 737's from QLD regional routes and putting them onto BNE-SYD-MEL

So any thoughts on having two 22 year old Fokkers running around for Virgin?

That's very funny on a different level, probably not a good idea

The more I see of men........... the more I love my dog

I'm sure suddenly aircraft age will become a wonderful thing for a couple of members now, whereas before QF ejected Alliance it was evil ;)

Let's hope they can serve hot drinks for DJ which was not a possibility when they were on QF lease, not a great move IMHO.

It's 100% correct because 'other boards said so'? :)

And it was in the news, on the website and virgin's wall.

News, I wouldn't trust. Website, where? The media release is not specific and the Fokker 100 page graphic is not conclusive. I also couldn't find any references on Virgin's FB wall.

Beating a dead horse, but I just like everything to be referenced when being 'confirmed'.
