and its also loaded into their schedules already. picked it up looking at flights to PPP for clients yesterday.

Bringing the thread back OT (sorry!) but I was saying this in reference to the paint scheme only.

Heheh, yeah that's a strange one. I personally wouldn't mind seeing the F100's in a Virgin livery however if it's only going to be a short term lease it wouldn't be a great business decision as LiamR mentioned earlier.

It's a done deal according to Jack;)

Talking about paint schemes- VH-NLH springs to mind as to whether or not the Fokker's should be painted or not.

Apologise for the O/T parade, perhaps mods it's time to split this thread into two and create a seperate discussion for the Fokker Livery?

Your right, that is a strange one.

I think they've painted it like this...

In preperation to do this when it gets back home.

Of course NLH was a Speedbird on loan, with QF crew, bit like the AN767 that flew for QF for a while.

I’ve flown J class 28/1/12 from PER-ADL (2hr 55min) on E190 on the 0810-1335 flight. In terms of virgin J class experience, I only have the PER-SYD A330 J experience to compare with. Admittedly, I was concerned when I read that the refurbishments were only going to be started in Feb and I was wondering what exactly would be on offer.

Seating
- Currently, only PE seating was on offer. As stated previously, the refurbishments to the E190s were going to start in Feb. For extra leg room, row 2 is better to stretch out. There is no cabin divider. Because I was the only J class PAX, there were some PAX that tried to sit in row 1 and 2 but they were promptly told that row 1 and 2 were “business class cabin only”.

Service
- Single FA for J PAX. As previously stated, only 4 J PAX allowed in the current 8 seat cabin. Pre-flight drink (water only) and newspaper were offered. Amenities bag was on my seat. After take-off, drinks were offered including alcohol if wanted.

Luckily, no catering issues on this flight! There was 1 meal served-spinach quiche with tangy tomato relish/chutney and fresh fruit salad (mango, watermelon, blackberry, pineapple). It was served on the new J class serving tray complete with appropriately sized metal utensils and cloth napkin.

Nuts and pretzels offered midway through the flight.

IFE
- DigEplayer with movies, TV shows, music and podcasts was available.

Toilets-
The front toilet is now exclusively for J class. FA now “locks” the toilet door from the outside so it appears that it’s always engaged. This was announced at the start but a number of PAX still tried to use it anyway. Again, they were promptly redirected. The only other person that used that toilet on my flight was the pilot.

Overall, I enjoyed the service but it’s obviously not as polished as the A330 PER-SYD J product. The A330 PER-SYD is only $210 more ( $1399 vs $1189) but you get a proper J class cabin, reclinable leather seats and 3 course meal. I will probably wait until the refurbishments are done on the E190 before flying J class again on it. Hope this is useful for others wanting to try E190 J class!

Just did a 190 to BNE ex NTL, for a 6 PM flight the cheese platter was poor, but service was fantastic and managed to have two mock tails and three JWs to compensate. Had a self upgrader attempt row 2, lasted 2 minutes, all up good, but food needs work.

Hope you are sending feedback about the food issues Markis - I have only had an actual meal, haven't yet flown between meal times.

It is mid Feb and the E190 refurbishments are scheduled o be completed by the end of Feb yet there are still no Signs of this, my next J flight on the E190 is CNS-TSV-OOL-CBR next month so fingers crossed!

So is there still nothing leaked as to the seat configuration? I am keeping a watch on this. Just hoping for a 1 2 configuration. Dunno how the overhead baggage bins would work tho.

Yes I have to admit I'm waiting to see what they put up before I book a flight to Darwin from Adelaide, its either an E190 & 737 via Perth or 737 via Sydney...if the E190 config looks good, ill take the extra flying time via Perth :D

This was posted some time back about the E90s - sounds like it may be from the FAs though so not sure if accurate. Be interested in hearing the official story from VA but they seem to be quiet on this one - not sure if they've seen the thread or not.

Just got off CBR-BNE-CNS and asked about E-Jet Business. On both fights I was told that E-Jet's will recive new seat coverings and that Business will not be installed and that Business customers will recive All Business perks (Gourmet Food, Amenity Kit etc..) just normal economy seat with black head rests not coloured. :(:(:(
