I think we're getting the refurb and the repaints mixed up here. Being repainted in Virgin Oz scheme is longer term.

Just noticed that VA29/30 to AUH has been canned from 1st Feb-2nd March . Etihad is taking over the service during this time . Do i assume that we will finally see the refurb / repaint being done on two of VA's 777 ? Possible maintenance also .

C-check + repaint, but I don't know which one yet...

Well it was only a 20% chance of getting VH-VPH (refurb/new livery) for my flight tomorrow to the US , but looks like I have managed to score that 20% . VH-VPH is currently doing LAX-SYD (VA2) landing in SYD tomorrow and barring any late substitute is likely then to turn around and do VA1 tomorrow back to LAX. Fingers crossed.

Does anyone have any further info on when the 777 fleet refurb will be completed ? From what i can tell there is still only 1 aircraft (VH-VPH) that has undergone the refurb . Do I recall JB saying this was to be completed by the end of 2012 ? Clocks ticking.......

VH-VPD is currently in Singapore for a repaint and is expected to be joined by VH-VOZ later this week or in to early next week.

yup, saw it last on the ground there last week...quite surprising to see it whilst taxiing out :)

How many 330's are VA getting this year?

3ish... VHVPD is ferrying back to SYD tonight and I will assume enter service tomorrow. VHVOZ will depart for SIN sometime this week...

VHFNA - F50 of Skywest has ferried to Townsville to become the first aircraft repainted into VA colours.

Incorrect, you've jumped the gun.. Skywest celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, you'll find that a special decal (or livery) will be released to celebrate this milestone. The aircraft is in TSV to have this applied, NOT to have the VA livery applied.

Naw.... :( I was looking forward to seeing a F50 in VA colours!

Don't know where you got your info from however FNA ASWELL AS FSQ are both going to be the first aircraft to be repainted into VA colours! And that's from XR engineering!

Seems highly unlikely that it will be repainted before the deal is concluded though?

Virgin's newest A330-200 VH-XFG 'Terrigal Beach' is now on her way to Australia, having just departed from Toulouse.

The aircraft is scheduled to arrive Melbourne late afternoon Sunday.

Does anyone know when all VA aircraft will have the new livery ? I noticed yesterday at SYD there are still a number of 737's and I think a couple of the 777's which still have the old Virgin Blue / V Australia livery . If I recall right its now over 2 years since the rebrand.

Probably before Qantas repaint all their planes with the new roo and font. Still a lot of old ones about
