Alright. Someone get on it and get a photo!

Sounds like nothing amazing on the IFE front if it's in service now though.

+1 to that. I'd espically like to see how the inside works without BSI.

If it was at OOL I might consider going down.

We will just have to wait and see regards to the IFE. As for Thursdays being the announcment days, actually Wednesdays has been, only the velocity relaunch was on a Thursday.

Probably safest to say midweek

I was told major announcements were being scheduled for every three weeks... how long has it been since the last major announcement?

25th was the last major announcement, velocity relaunch. Someone said there was a metting in the US or something that virgin america is attending with IFE, and virgin australia might be doing something on that day also.

Economy had the colored headrests and externally it was painted in the new Virgin Australia livery by the time I was on it.

By the way, I prefer the Luke Mangan New York style Pastrami sandwich to any of the horrid food in QF J class.

You obviously have not had many QF J meals then :|

Sitting on bgz right now. Flying Mel to syd. It's not had a paint job, but seats and galley has been updated. Took a couple of quick photos will send through later.
Still red outside.

From what I can see,

New carpets, new seats, divider installed and foot room for row 3 looks better the business class?
No ife on board. Kitchen front galley layout and bulkhead in front of row 1'
The overhead space has not changed at all.

Couldn't see much else..
Will post a couple of probably terrible iPhone photos.

Now that is good news. That means the refit shed is up and running and the changes have started. How many a week were they supposed to turn around?

Excellent. Go crazy. Can't be worse than my photo of my platinum pack. :)

I think it was 2-3 a week. But I could be wrong.

Interesting they haven't repainted that, I thought thats why they went to CHC.

ok uploading images has proven to be fun?? They went upside down. Here's the inside of the aircraft...

Josh the FA was telling me it's not 100% complete, they still have to put the finishing touches on it.

I was a little surprised the cabin baggage storage is the same (roof hasn't changed).. But there is now more storage over row 1 as the emergency equipment is now in the front bulk head.. (more baggage storage!)..

On a early evening flight today so they turned the lights down. It doesn't have the BSI sky interior lighting (was stock standard).. So only white lights.. (ive been on the BSI a few times, and they've got different lights..)

Overall it's not bad for the new fitout, apparently flight crew has alot more storage space up the front..

Ready for full service and all inclusive food in all classes? *oh I love how virgin has done this, it makes it so much fun!*

+ Thank you for your effort in getting those pictures, it is much appreciated - I wonder if the "tweaks" mean some LED lighting?

Thanks for posting some photos, kinda feels weird without BSI installed.

Can't just install new baggage storage, the BSI aircraft are designed differently, to take the new baggage compartments. A retrofit isn't available.

Thanks a lot for the pics! The BSI interior is not available as a retrofit - so that's probably what it will remain like - although they may be able to tweak it a litte.
