Actually me and 2 others were pe, virgin had to op up the rest apparently due to a later flight change. Plane was completely full

WOW thats a lot of suits in there!!!!
Looks like the status match is working huh

I think the suit quota on VA has been growing all year - not sure how much of a kick the Status Matches have given it yet.

As already noted, and photographed, we've begun the roll-out of retro-fitting the interiors, with two already completed. All domestic 737s will be completed by mid-December.
Each aircraft is to be repainted to a separate schedule, and this timeline is a tad longer!

Virgin, could you please notify us which aircraft are re-fitted when they get it done? Plus is the BNE hangar up and going? Also what is the second aircaft refitted now with BZG?

I note you said "domestic" will it eventually happen with the international/ TT routes as well or is that still to be decided?

The second aircraft is VH-VUV. As I previously stated, the retrofits are being carried out in CHC not in the BNE hangar.

Have my virgin PE flight coming in early Dec, here's on hoping for a retrofitted aircraft!

Ok cool, but when BNE is approved, it will start re-fitting. CHC is in use at the moment until BNE is up and running.

Jack, BNE will not be used for retrofits, how many times do I have to point this out? They are all being carried out in CHC!

Many! ... i am not sure of the exact number but you keep doing it and i'll try and count :)

People are saying it because:

a) A Virgin representative said (in a quote for a some airline news website or something) that there was a hanger to be certified in BNE for retrofits
b) Flight crew, attendants, and other VA staff have confirmed this when asked by both myself and others.

Obviously you know more than we do and things have changed, thanks for your patients and the update mate :) - we will get the message soon enough haha

haha

Assuming of course VA staff have been reliably informed and aren't just working off rumours. You'd be amazed how little airline staff know about their own company. The general public are usually better informed.

From my perspective I dont really care where they are being done, just so long as they are happening!

VH-VUU and VH-VUZ are now back in service with the new J and Y seats.

Was on VUW today, new seats installed.

Interested to see what people think the chances of Virgin increasing its A330 order now with the SIA alliance almost definitely getting approval? By 2013 they will currently have 6 A330s in their fleet. Remember they are going to be code sharing with Virgin Atlantic to Hong Kong.

Also, what are the chances of increasing the 777-300ER fleet, don't they still have two on options? This would not only allow them to increase the frequency on the successful LAX route but also start servicing SFO and maybe even all the way to LHR.

I don't necessarily think that an alliance with a LH carrier is going to precipitate a further push into LH themselves. The EY alliance didnt, and isn't the whole point of these alliances so that DJ don't have to create their own LH network? I'm curious as to why people think an alliance with SQ means DJ start flying to SIN or Asia. Why would they? The market is already serviced by their partner. JB has maintained for a while that the A330s are for domestics ops, and aside from the transcon I can also see their usefulness on the big commuter route SYD-MEL, especially with the capacity issues in SYD. Sure they might also be utilized on leisure sectors during peak holiday periods to places like coughet or Bali, but I'm it so sure we'll see permanent runs into Asia in competition with their alliance partner.

Heard from a reliable source there will be as many a330s as they can get their hands on ( good ones)

Well that might not be as exciting as it sounds. In the absence of 787 deliveries, there's somewhat of a scarcity of A330s. As many as they can get their hands on could very well be only a few.

But their code-sharing routes with EY include a couple services on their own metal, as do their routes with ANZ, so I can see them flying at least a marginal amount of their own metal to any port that’s a big focus to them. They don’t want to have the profitability issues faced by QF but spreading things too thin, but flying to a few key places under their own steam, with a lot of support from their partners is what I think they’ll be focusing on.
