😂😂😂 if they keep the 12 J then most likely would be used for transcon.

12 in J for a SYD-MEL in normal times won't be doable for the crew as the service and cabin prep time for VA is slightly shorter than Qantas.

Hope I'll get to try these second hand aircraft even though they were first delivered in 2014:

I am a little surprised they are pushing ahead with this, I guess they couldn’t get out of the contracts….? OR they are being very bullish about borders being open for Christmas…? I’m hoping for all our sakes it is the latter.

I have no doubt is the latter. Demand will be huge once we open up especially around Christmas

Well they were caught out last summer short of capacity so I feel like they don't want to repeat that.

There will be quite the uproar if at 80% of the 16+ population being double vaccinated we still have border restrictions given we are being told constantly vaccination is the way out of this. Given we are supposed to hit this target around early NOV I can see why they would be optimistic for xmas.

This announcement may had occurred at the same time SQ sold some of their A359s to the leasing companies and leased them back.

Apparently according to ANet, VA engineers are currently removing seats from the disposed 737s that won't be returning to the VA fleet.

Wouldn't surprise me if those seats are installed on the ex-SilkAir jets when they get delivered to BNE from the lessor.

Makes sense for consistency..

This would be good if they kept the MI interiors. Economy has shared USB and AC power in between each seat plus fold down screens above.
