Have been advised that the first of their new 737's (VH-YFC) has been flown to Tulsa ,it is painted all white at the moment,I understand it is scheduled for delivery to Virgin within the next couple of weeks, not sure if it will be painted in the new livery prior to delivery but I suspect not.

From the Virgin Blue Facebook page.....
Virgin Blue
Looking forward to sharing more news with you all tomorrow

I'm hoping for the new name, A330 and consolidation of brands... But expecting something Minor as it's not expected till July.

Only time will tell...

The name change is possible as John Borghetti said before July, also with the A330s to enter service next month it would make sense for the new livery to be applied to them and unveil the new brand with the full new product.

Apparently it's something to do with Flybuys, like what QF currently does with Woolies/Safeway, and let me tell you I have been shopping at Woolworths as much as I can since it first happened.

But an announcement on the new name would be nice, although I doubt it would be different to VS, VX should start thinking of getting a new livery and logo soon too.

I'm hoping that they get their skates on and tell us when the A330's will be flying (like the timetable). As you say, it would make sense to do the branding thing at the same time.

It could be whatever they have cooked up with Coles on the FLyBuys thing. Perhaps, where there was a leak, there is something about to happen.

Considering they have been talking about improving the rewards program, my guess is they'll announce all the changes tommorow. With the Major news being a Flybuys revamp similar to EDR/QFF

Something needs to be done, the currrent Flybuys is a lost cause, it takes about a hundred years to redeem a $25 voucher; no wonder the Woolies/QFF card is a winner for them both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm guessing that's the one from South America (Brazil?) that doesn't have the range to fly straight across the Pacific so just about has to do a lap of the Pacific to get here.

The Virgin A332's start flying SYD/PER on May 26th on a daily return basis, increasing to three daily flights from July.

Purchase two business class return flights and they'll give you Gold status free.

Virgin have also removed the red engine cowling rings, and the new 'flying lady' from the A332 at MEL.

Cheers Dee

www.virginaustralia.com.au is now registrered to Virgin Enterprises

I wonder why :lol::mrgreen:

As Globetrotter reported back up at post#166 in this very thread, this was in train a month ago.....

In addition to this, www.virginaustralia.com.au which was, until last night, the Easyrider website owned by Virgin Australia Pty Ltd, a company unrelated to Virgin Blue, is now offline indicating that Virgin Blue got what they wanted through the courts, naming rights to Virgin Australia. So there we go, the decision is made for me and the new name for Virgin Blue will be Virgin Australia and I believe it will be announced next week at a Sydney press conference :)
