Virgin Flyer 2-For-1

When the changes come in, it will be just another card. It'll suit some, but not others. As a replacement, I've been looking at the David Jones AMEX (I have another M/card for non-AMEX retailers) which gives 3 points per $ on lots of every day purchases. Include a one for one point transfer to VS and it looks more useful than the VA high flyer card (although mine runs out in Oct. so I'm still debating another years renewal and promptly booking some holidays with it in flexi and upgrade)

Be very careful here. The David Jones Amex earns 3:$1 on lots of purchases, but the 3 points earned is in the special "David Jones Membership Rewards" ... it is _not_ accrued in your more commonly found Amex "Ascent" membership rewards scheme, thus the transfer rate I think is 2:1VFF not 1:1

I'm not even remotely interested in VFF points. The tnf rate to VS is 1:1 and that suits me! ;)

Oh yes, sorry - I'd be surprised though if VS has a better transfer rate than VA ... are you sure the rate is 1:1 with the DJMR?

My card expires in December and I will be cancelling it then. Until this morning I still had 4 TWO41 sectors remaining.

I had a very positive experience this morning. I booked return saver light flights and saved $330.

Technical question:

I have two return J tickets booked on 2for1 offer OOL <-> MEL.

I have had a change of plans and now one of the pax will no longer need to fly the departing flight OOL-MEL.

I recall there being something in the T&Cs about both pax having to travel on the same flight. What happens in this case if one of the pax fails to board? Anyone been down this path before?

I can't find the full terms and conditions just at the moment or I would refer to them directly.

Safe flying,

CB

If its confirmed and ticketed then nothing.

I suggest asking the checkin person if they can block the seat next to you.

Turns out I was able to get them to split my 2for1 booking and then change them independently. This was all done over the phone and incurred no cost.

Wow. That sounds like a good outcome and a hint of the recent past where VA did go the extra mile and were regularly accommodating!

Hi all, just a quick query. Tried googling and looking at most pages in the thread, which doesn't clarify one way or the other definitively..............

Should Status Credits and Points be credited for both pax who are travelling under a TWO41 booking. Fares basis of UZDA/VM ?

Cheers in advance

You'll get status credits each, but my experience has been that you get half the points.

Yes. But points are only on the fare paid......ie. approximately half (OK not approximately, considerable less than half).

Speaking of Two41s, I might just mention that ever since the Sabre implement-debacle, my account has shown nothing WRT these perks. Booked one the other night and was informed I had three more to go..........yeh right, used three previously, now the "last" one gone and have three to go. Pity it runs out this month!

One step forward, two leaps backward. Perhaps rather than canning the flexi/j benefit, they should have reined in the freebies?

During the period immediately after the Sabre changeover where the balance was 'N/A' I went beserk....

I had used all 4 of mine. Called last night and used another 2.... No problems.

Remember we all have until the end of the month.

I know this question has been asked before but I can't find the answer. Whats the rule on paying for 2-4-1s with a combo of gift voucher and Virgin Flyer CC? The T's and C's of the card offer say you can but the call centre told me I cant?

I asked to use travelbank + credit card the other night. They said no. Other people seem to get different results.

Called up to cancel the card today, ended up getting an annual fee waiver. So why not
