Virgin Happy Hour [Thursdays]

Happy Hour is back with fares starting from $49! Because it's a New Year of holidays...

Happy Hour today includes

ADL <-> ASP $158 13/10/22 - 1/12/22 (Choice - default)

ADL <-> DRW $129 30/10/22 - 4/12/22 (Choice; Lite $109)

$30-$50 cheaper to travel the extra c.1500km

I know pricing is more complex than distance alone, but still.....

ASP has always had a premium attached to it.

Tiger was the only player in that market that tried driving demand via low fares. Didn’t work out sadly, however I do recall flying Melbourne to Alice Springs on one of those $9.95 fares back in 2008 in my 20s, baggage included!

A little underwhelmed with the Happy Hour offerings lately, feel it’s shifted from its previous “cheaper, sooner” focus on shifting seats that aren’t selling.
Lately many triple figure lite fares for standard east coast domestic routes well into 2024 😕.
Would be much more interested in keener priced fares for 2023 travel. YMMV - Maybe I’m an outlier

Who's even planning that far ahead domestically (as someone who plans far ahead)??? I don't usually start booking things for next year until the final quarter of the year.

Plenty of people do with firm dates for events etc. But yes, that's not me either despite being a 100% leisure traveller.

Wow haven't seen those prices for ages to Perth. Shame didn't catch it this week. Oh well.
