Hello all
Just wondering if anyone has any further updates on the renovations? Flying through LAX later this week. Happy to offer an update when I go through there.

That person talks about arrivals access - I didn't think it had ever been open for arrivals access...

Hello all -
As promised, an update on the LAX lounge from earlier this week. Having never been there before, it looks like they have completed the refurbishing part in that the lighting, furnishings etc. in the entrance foyer in the photo previously posted in this thread now extend throughout the lounge. Having said that, the lounge is still pretty small. Some other observations:
- good internet / wifi access
- no alcohol still - given card for 'open bar' at restaurant downstairs which did not use
- uninspiring food offering - sandwiches, sushi, cubes of cheese etc.

Instead of investing in a refurb, they should get a liquor license!

Pics look great to be honest, but no liquor is a #FAIL

The issue is most likely bureaucratic hurdles, which (legally) cannot be overcome with money and are seldom easy to quickly solve.

At least the lounge looks like it is intended for some serious liquor, clubhouse style.

I will be there in a month. I hope they have booze by then, because my arriving flight from SLC gets in at 5pm and I will be in the lounge for a while and don't want to head downstairs to that fish restaurant.

I fully understand the inconvenience as I experienced it myself late Sept - BUT - I would walk across hot coals to get free grog.

So would I. And I will go downstairs for a while if I have to.
What's the go with that anyway? You hand a card to the wait staff and it's free? What about tipping?

I was there in August, no card just told no alcohol available. Heading back in December will be interesting will take some pics.

YES they give you a card - I think I just flicked the dude behind the bar a 5er - cannot remember - no biggie anyway.

Yes this is right. I was there this week and they give you a card that opens a tab for you. According to the lounge people you can rack up as big a tab as you like! P.S. we did tip the waitress as customary everywhere in the US - a $5 from memory.

I might shout the whole bar and see what happens.

I was there last night, and overheard a conversation saying they can't get a liquor license approved.

What was consistent was the Internet never works at this lounge. They stuff around saying tech is looking at, but never got it fixed before the flight.
