Well it is finally opened!
The staff tell me it opened on Saturday.
It's fairly compact but enough room for this morning's crowd. The food spread is quite good, although no eggs (gasp!). A barista is on hand. Nice tarmac views. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
You do hear the announcements of the terminal but there are no announcements made in the lounge.
All in all a nice lounge.20190903_081039.jpg

Thanks for the update. I’ll be there in a couple of weeks so am looking forward to trying it out.

Wandered past it this morning looked to be quite busy without being packed about 0900.

I’m in lounge at the moment. Only about 1/4 full at this stage. I like the layout and design. It certainly does have an urban apartment feel rather than a traditional airport lounge. Drinks selection is fine and I recommend the signature coughtail. Selection of food is fine for a snack or grazing.

I walked past it last Tuesday 17th September at around 08:30 and it was standing room only from what I could see.

For those interested a photo of menu with food and drink offering as at last Thursday

It's quite decent, not a "lounge" atmosphere, more like a busy, large cafe with lounge chairs. Very busy yesterday (Tue) morning 8:30 to 9:00 am with all the lounge chairs full but plenty of seats at table and benches. Lots of food and drink (including a decent range of alcoholic beverages) and a barista.

(The airport was super busy in general/ Security was so backed up there was a 100m queue on the check-in level to just get to the start (top) of the escalator down to the air-side departures area from the check in level.)

Er, is this normal for a Wednesday? Our 09:30 domestic arrival from SYD for an 11:05 international departure to LAX is sounding more ridiculous by the minute.

Pretty sure there will be no time to experience the Lounge, but if there are delays as described above - I may not get to experience the long haul flight either....

Try to "go show" on an earlier flight from SYD...

No idea about Wed but things may have eased by 9:30. The My Lounge was certainly emptier at 9:30 than at 9. The transit from BNE dom to int is quite good. Might only be a five minute wait for the orange bus, and then it's five minutes to int.

Make sure you get Express Path cards in SYD at the service desk in SYD lounge - this means you can skip that queue in BNE int by presenting the card to the security guy at the top of the escalator and then head straight down the Express lane at security - still some queuing but nowhere near as bad as the plebs. Also present your passport at the service desk in SYD lounge (they "verify credentials") and get your boarding pass, so you don't have to do it at BNE int checkin.

So you should be okay as long as your dom flight is not delayed!?! So, if you can, Fly Ahead as AIRwin suggested.

Alas, if only it was that easy. There are 8 of us travelling - Mr Clipped and I in J, then 6 adult kids in Economy X. So I highly doubt there would be a fly ahead offer 😢

Just noticed your BNE flight is to LAX. In which case you still need to go to BNE int checkin (presumably for TSA checks). I recall this was announced on the transfer bus.

My first visit to the My Lounge today and I agree it doesn't feel like a lounge, more like a holding pen - probably because they just installed some fences in the terminal and put some vinyl flooring down! At 9 am on a Saturday it's standing room only, loud and not at all a relaxing vibe :(

Bit sad to say, pity that VAi has no space at BNE int airport.
Am in it at the moment.
If there is not a lot of people in here, its OK.
But I am sure it can get crowded as they sell entry too.
At least they have barista coffee and diy, and loos out back.
