Virgin Lounge Food

Nup doesn't count. They had brie rolls and stuff last time, now that's food!

Heck I would be happy for fried food, spring rolls, somosas etc

I honestly don't care what they offer – it could be literally anything. It just has to be varied!

I think that's pretty reasonable.

Maybe if they picked a cuisine each week and did the same thing for seven days – then moved on!

Is anyone still seeing extra food in lounges?

The past 6(?) Times I haven't seen anything extra. Getting tired of sandwiches :(

Wish they had more food options
Sometimes.

Thai green chicken curry in OOL lounge. I can just grab the chicken pieces without the curry it is nice. Fried rice with chorizo and prawns in OOL lounge. Quite tasty.

Hot dogs in BNE lounge. Hot dogs with cheese, mustard and tomato sauce. Is 4 too many?

I have not seen anything in SYD lounge for a long time.

They had soft shell tacos in MEL lounge Friday evening. Probably my favourite dinner option thus far.

Yep, they were certainly popular. Had two tacos, and then a toasted sandwich with taco filling :P.

There was also a frozen yoghurt stand (by berry me?) too, which was a welcome addition.

Not if you are a fan of heart disease John!
LOL. Had that once already.

But Virgin did make up for it last night. Soup and make your own sandwich at 6:30pm. No thanks. Cheese and crackers on board which is one of their better snacks so asked for an extra one. Starving when I got to apartment at 9:30pm. Just as well I brought some beans and cabbage soup from home to save the night.

Can anyone tell me what I should expect in BNE Dom lounge about 6 pm of an evening week night food wise? Anything hot that could pass for dinner?

I'm trying to work out whether to rely on lounge for food or make my own arrangements.

Hot dogs on a Friday night is a special treat. The other nights are hit and miss.

Ah yes, 2 types of soup generally

Was being cheeky as that's their normal offering everyday

Further to my earlier post, the food was okay on the night I visited BNE VA Lounge. The overall feel is a bit low rent compared to QF lounge but food and wine was okay, not as good as QF lounge but adequate.

Im struggling to see the difference tbh...qp has coughtail gherkins seems to be about it. Theyre both in a race to the cheapest but most colourful/deceptive offerings generally

Was in the MEL lounge yesterday afternoon/evening. Very rarely fly out of MEL at that time.

they had mini party pies and then also had pork rolls. I was actually quite impressed. Compare that to SYD at the same time just over a week ago and the only noticeable difference was fried rice.
