Virgin Lounge Food

29 July MEL lounge had the equivalent (as above) pretzel roll, poached eggs , bacon with hollindaise sauce. As most commented eggs were over done but all in all a tasty breakfast and a good start to the day before our flight to PER.

Melbourne lounge last night (25/8/19) and they had Beef Brisket on hot dog buns with tomato chutney and mustard. The hot dog buns were a let down but I have to say, the beef brisket was fresh and moist!

My question is simple, but I suspect the answer is not.

Based on my on experiences and the many comments in other threads in the VA forum, we all know that the food in the Virgin Lounges is pretty ordinary and rarely changes.

Can we expect to see some improvement in the quality and variety of food in the VA lounges?

I agree completely. They could improve a lot. Have been to VA lounges few times as I don't fly a lot but the food does not make me want to go there again. It's pretty basic , wish they do something to change the menu.

Fully agree about the buns and the brisket; the latter very nice along with the chutney.

The lines were longish at times and the staff serving them was getting a sore hand/wrist from the necessary repeated use of the tongs.

Duck tortellini today at OOL lounge was pretty decent, and with some actual meat visible haha. Although the parmesan cheese was sadly missing :(

The pop up Sud Polaire stand in Melbourne’s lounge today is swell. They’re serving a delicious gin coughtail. I have a 5 hour international to domestic transfer so I really need to exercise self restraint.

The crumbed and deep fried prawns that Virgin are serving as a “bar snack” are pretty ordinary though. Soft and soggy.

Veal tortellini in SYD last night. Sauce was spicy, not a fan. Overall a pass. Had more luck with the toasted sandwich maker when the lounge cleared out.

The paver-esque thing is an omelette or frittata of some sort.

Sydney was Scrambled Eggs and Sausages this morning. Not bad.

Darwin domestic lounge is ok. Usually there for lunch on the way south. Good salads, soups and make your own toasted sandwiches followed by very fruity/creamy make your own pancakes. With the limited offerings it is all good food, no trash. Have a lot of varieties of cold beer!!!!!

hope the Perth breakfast is as good as the pics when I leave for Sydney at sparrows fart.

Green Thai chicken curry and rice in the BNE lounge this afternoon. The lounge is the busiest I have seen since the completion of the renovations long ago. I would put it down to an 'infestation' of Richmond supporters...
