Ouch!!
That's a huge spend (for me at least!) can I ask what made up the bulk of it? Am planning on applying for that card this week, you have made me v nervous!

$5K in SQ flights, new iphone, hotels, bills, general spend. All of which will comply to T&C's.

Damm

Dammit, I was hoping you were going to say ATO bills!
Surely the SQ flights alone should have got you a across the line??

ok, seems they messed up my application and didn't sign me to the 3 x 40K points deal. Instead the 5 x 16K points deal which sucks! I am waiting for their call to try to change it.

I signed up the normal flyer card and just received first statement and got 20K bonus points. Also charged $64 annual fee, which is nothing when I am about to get $129 VA credit out of it. So I will maintain the 1.5K spend (exclude all those government charges etc) to get remaining points. Checked velocity account and the points are there too!

Glad I didn't sign up the High Flyer one as there is no way I can spend $3000 each month to maintain 40K bonus. Happy to get 60K bonus points + $65 VA credit for nothing ......

It is so far all smooth from Citibank (touchwood)!

I am looking at this card and or the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures credit card for Velocity Points and with people being caught out for exclusions in spend, is it possible to call them during each month to see how much of your spend has qualified for the points? That way you can't get caught out?

Applied late Sunday night, had an email saying I was approved today. Hopefully it's easy to figure out when my statement dates begin/end once the card arrives.

Congrats! Such a good offer.
The reassessment team are reviewing my application after initially declining... I'm not incredibly hopeful. Looks like 8 cards in 10 months was a bridge too far sadly!

Can you update us if your manual review was successful?

Sure can, will be early next week.
The refusal reason they've given doesn't make sense- something about a previous account in default (Never!! And their collections dept have confirmed that.) I suspect they have just said something rather than nothing and instead it relates to too many applications. Also could be that I've held a similar card too recently?

Sigh.
I was going to take a break from applications after this one anyway as the min spend is so high: the only way we'd make it is to bring some expenses forward. Now I'll need to take a break with no benefit!

Another blindspot on govt charges. Taswater went through. Owned by all Tasmanian councils. And only just spent the $1500 this month, so no confusion.

Applied for esta in the USA, and no points came through, so looks like even US gov spend is no good.

That's a shame, hopefully the manual review comes through for you. I haven't had anywhere near that number of applications this year! haha.

For those interested, it appears that my statement date begins 12th October (was approved on 11th Oct).

Will I have issues if I apply for High Flyer because I have Citi Sig with $55k limit?

I am thinking about varying down my Citi Prestige limit as the points earn has changed substantially except for the points doubler until the end of this month. I used to need the $100,000 credit limit but there are now more expenses that attract zero points than just ATO.
I think if I do that I might be able to qualify for this credit card.
