Applied on the 28th, finally received card today, let the spending begin, and time to test various spending methods to see if they count in the first month, at least then for month 2/3 i know what to keep using it on or not

I received my first High Flyer statement which showed the first tranche of bonus points awarded. However, only the points earned (not the 40K bonus) have been transferred to my Velocity account. Is this the case with others? Perhaps they only transfer the bonus points after the three months?

The bonus points for my first month transferred straight away, along with the regular points earned.

Should be transferred together.

Same for me, however on the second month I received only the spend points, even though it shows on my statement the bonus points have been received.
Currently overseas so will sort it out when I get home (after the final month)
Can't wait for the final month and then snip the card

Got my statement today and first lot of bonus points posted. Should be on track to get the full 120k, so pretty pleased with that.

Can anyone confirm the status of payments made directly to Telstra? Are they non-government spend (as they should be). I only just scraped through with the bonus points last month.

TELSTRA s a public company so it is not a government charge on a credit card.

Similar issue here. First month points and bonus points went through almost instantly when the statement was produced. Second month points were transferred at the time of the statement but even though bonus points showed up on the statement no bonus points yet received in my Velocity account ...6 days and counting.

Just went online, whilst the statement says I have been credited 40000 the rewards Status online states the points were rejected - this could only have occurred if they had rejected my DEFT Strata Payment - don't think payment for the management of a building should be a government expense

My High Flyer online account is also showing the bonus points as rejected. I called Virgin Money today and it appears there is a glitch in the system transferring the bonus points to Velocity. They are apparently working on it and the points will transfer at the end of the current statement period.

Received my 3 X 20000 points successfully, and glad I've cancelled this card now. Seems like a problematic card to have based on many experiences, not to mention the poor earn rate on the money flyer.

Let me tell you all, my experience so far in receiving the points has been very bad. First they had me down on a different bonus rate which i had to argue with them, then they agreed to forward missing points. Now my monthly points have been rejected by velocity and can't be transferred.
Also received interest bill for money that i had paid off. No way of tracking points earned and the website is awful. Can't wait to cancel this once i get my final points.

Hit the end of my third month a few days ago for the High Flyer.
By a stuff up in minimum spend allocation I missed the first month bonus (water bill = government spend = not counted - silly oversight by me, but could only get clarification after putting in an ombudsman's complaint: nobody on the phones had any idea) but got 2x40k for month 2 and 3.

Funny thing though - on my third month statement it said I received 80k bonus points for that statement period... only 40k have found their way into my velocity account so far but I'm waiting another month to see if there might be some provision for $9000 spend over 3 months still earning the full swag (due to issues others have had waiting for points to sweep).

After that it's bye bye Virgin Money, worst providers I have ever had to deal with.

I'm waiting for my first month to finish. I've spent $4k and all is non- gov spend so hopefully I've enough of a buffer should something strange happen. I thought the $3k minimum might have been difficult, but no... where have all these expenses come from?!

ETA- with regard to the cost benefit analysis done upthread re missed opportunity using this card rather than an AMEX, looks like I put through around $400 which ideally would have earnt more points per dollar had I charged them to my AMEX. Not too bad!

First statement arrived today, and it's a very happy news story. Not only did I get the first round of 40,000 bonus points, but I every dollar I spent earned points (except the annual fee). Am feeling much more comfortable that the next two months will be achievable.

Thanks again to everyone who helped / discussed / provided advice!

Great effort earning points on every transaction!

Would you mind sharing some of the places you spent in which you thought maybe they were not eligible or are listed as not eligible but they ended up earning points?
e.g
Any utility bills, phone bills, private health cover, school fees, foxtel etc?

would be handy for the rest of us that have any doubts of what they are spending.

Also agree with Leroy87 in that it is poor form that you can't see as you go which transactions earn points, every other card I have had does

Thanks Gianni. I didn't put anything onto this card I thought there was a risk of not earning points, my relief was that nothing flagged govt spending that shouldn't have. A large EasyJet transaction was the only single transaction big enough should it have declined I would have missed the target (it didn't) I live in a small town without much AMEX acceptance so most was groceries, drinks, dinners & the local nursery. I buy wish vouchers through work - reward gateway - this card is my only one without a surcharge & the points were fine. I did purchase a very useful Westfield Eftpos card which happily earned points, and will be picking up another today. Good luck!

Has anyone managed to access their lounge passes yet? I can't find mine on my velocity account and my account was opened about 3 weeks ago.
