I just applied for this today. To hit the $3000/month spend what is the highest value 'Gift Card' or prepaid debit card that people know of? I'll probably purchase some Wish cards through the entertainment book, though would prefer Coles if there was something around similar to the Wish card.

Also can anyone confirm if the following earn:
- Powershop
- BUPA or other healthfunds?

Third lot of 40,000 points arrived today. Love the points but am glad that's over!! Requested & received the $129 voucher yesterday & spent it today so I am done with this card, but will hold for non Amex spend while I await the next card.

Received points for all but $20 spent at Australia Post (postage, not bill pay) which makes sense.

I did similar, have received the $129 voucher and will be using it shortly and then plan on cancelling prior to next annual fee. The non-Amex points earn is decent though, but will be moving on to another card as well!

What's your next card if you don't mind me asking?

I see now the two cards have altered their conditions.

The Flyer card now has an annual fee of $129 compared to $64. All else appears the same.
The High Flyer Card now only earns 80,000 points over 5 months of 16,000 points with the $3k spend compared to 120,000 points of 3 months of 40,000 point with $3k spend. Annual fee looks the same.

Has anybody received the Velocity points for the 4th month (i.e after the 3 months of sign on points have been paid) and noticed anything unusual?

Interesting... sign up via the velocity website & the conditions seem the same?

Will hit month 4 mid February, but won't hit $3k spend this month....

I got a pleasant surprise and was nowhere near my spend.

Why yes, yes I have. Monthly spend points and another 20K. Let’s hope this is an ongoing ‘benefit’ and not just for month four :)

I do plan to apply for this CC once I have my 2017 tax assessment. I will have to reduce credit limits on other Citi CCs as they think I am at their limit.....$112,000 always paid to zero each month.

Mine is listed in my velocity account but hasn't seemed to have improved my overall total - weird? I'm about to go and do some points reconciling...

Edit: They are all appearing fine - it's just annoying that Velocity doesn't list all my transactions when I search all transactions!?!

Has anyone paid a Sydney Water bill (via Sydney Water website) or an Energy Australia bill (via phone pay or direct debit) can advise if they are classified as an eligible spend or not?

I'm considering this card but my hangup might be utilising the $129 flight voucher. Can this be used for flights for a spouse or does it have to be used for the primary card holders flight. As usual no mention in the T&C's that I can find.

I signed up for the high flyer card in nov 2017, was there an annual fee that was suppose to be charged? the updated site says $249 but I haven't been charged yet..?

Finally got the last of the 40,000k in my account today. planning on paying the last $350 off and cancelling, dont like you cant track point earn through the month, websites avg, and no app. Have recently signed up to the Velocity Platinum Amex again with the recent 100k offer so will keep that for now. will miss the Visa card ability that's the only thing

Why not keep the HF as back up to Amex until you find a better non-AMEX offer?

Hello again

I rang Virgin to query my spend for the month and the call centre person mentioned that insurance payments don't qualify for the promotion. I could find no mention of this in the terms and conditions.

Is it so?

cheers Peter

Hard to really say. It's hit and miss. I've had government charges go through on this and they're not meant to.

It may be worth hanging for another month and putting a little spend on the card and see what happens.
