Virgin Slow with points

The irony of this whole issue is that it's really only the frequent flyers who get pi$$ed off by the systems not working. Infrequent flyers typically don't care about SC's and wouldn't have an immediate use for points so are unlikely to even notice a delay. But those that fly frequently will spot the issue straight away.

So basically the issue only impacts their main revenue source, the same source who will pay more for their seats solely due to these loyalty programs.. You'd think it would be a priority to get it fixed on an automatic basis as opposed to manual fixes once we are all sick of waiting and come on a forum to cough about it.

Thank you VFF for at least acknowledging this thread and doing what you can to help. I appreciate this issue isn't within your control, but you still have to be on the receiving end of our disappointment.

There was a post on Facebook from someone that if his SCs had been credited, he should have become SG and be sitting in Perths new lounge but instead, he was chasing his SCs and no lounge for him.

Hi Richie312,
Please could you PM your member details so that we can look into this for you.
Many Thanks

How about me VFF! Not important enough obviously........

"I also waiting for EY flights from over 1 month ago. Put in a retro claim exactly 14 days after the flight and it still says "Awaiting Response". Just not good enough - there is obviously a systemic problem with EY because SQ post within 48 hours typically."

The delay in my SCs left me in the same situation. It was all I could think about for the 30 minute wait for bag drop followed by the same wait at SYD security. I wasn't happy either.

I'm still waiting on those BP bonus points from 6 weeks back.

And the final 90k from the Amex Platinum says it was transferred to Velocity on December 1. Still haven't seen it in my velocity account.

First time I've seen a CC points transfer not processed in a day. The points from my NAB card came through on schedule though.

I have gotten my BP points from yesterday, but my flights from 11 days ago have not showed up yet

yup, none of my recent flights have accrued either, way to go for your most loyal customers.

Rang Velocity and was told that there was a problem getting miles for anyone flying on 26th November. She added points and status manually and in my account few hours later.

Well it does sound isolated to particular date(s), but for data, I flew over the weekend and points posted about 36 hours later. I did proactively submit a retro claim just in case, so not sure if that had anything to with it.

Only slightly slower than normal but still fine. As soon as they posted I was able finally gift SG to my mother which was nice!

The mrs flew to Melbourne on Saturday and the points and SC's went into my account yesterday no problem.

Not flight related, but it took 8 days for my Amex pts to post to Velocity. 40000+pts (thank you friends :) ) swept from Amex on 01Dec, but they just hit my account this afternoon 09Dec.

I made a call about it to Amex and someone else had made a call apparently just before me. They didn't realise there had been an issue until we'd both reported it.

Still waiting on points/status credits for Air Berlin & Etihad flights taken 4 weeks ago. Called Velocity a fortnight ago and they mentioned their airline partners are taking 4-6 weeks to send the passenger lists through to them. Recommended to email retro@ velocityfrequentflyer.com with 'Supporting Documentation' as the heading along with your boarding pass or proof of travel.

Slow with points?........don't get me started with crediting of flights operated by Etihad!!!

Despite retro claims, I'm still waiting for VA flights operated by EY taken on Oct 31/Nov 1 from LHR-AUH-SYD to be credited to my account!!

Thought I'd make a follow up call to VFF to see what was happening with the crediting for my flights.

I was told my flights had been "approved" but VFF are still waiting for the points to come across from Etihad with no idea as to when. All in all a totally unsatisfactory situation.

On the Velocity website/calculator it says the CPH-DUS flight is worth 385 miles (616 km) and 10 status credits if it's a Discount Economy fare. It doesn't look like this is a VA codeshare although it's an Air Berlin flight. Should I be receiving points/SC for this flight?

As long as it is a AB operated and marketed flight you will earn points only. NO SC earn on AB unless it is a codeshare Marketed by VA

Thanks for the advice in this thread. Not surprisingly, my Etihad booking BNE-AUH-LHR failed to show up. I submitted a retro claim at exactly 2 weeks after these flights, and sent in my boarding pass and eticket receipt by email at the same time. Both flights posted this morning. This is less than three business days since sending in the info, so I'm pretty happy. Not sure if something has improved or if it's just luck/timing.

Probably going to have to do the same for the return leg.

Consider yourself lucky! What were the dates for the flights taken?

BNE-AUH on Dec 3rd, and AUH-LHR on Dec 4th. So overall it's very quick compared to what some are reporting from Etihad.

Arrived home yesterday, so I'll have to wait another 2 weeks to submit a retro claim for the return.

I also found out that the using the VFF website won't let you submit a claim any earlier than 14 days after the flight. Also, my online request never showed on the missing points claim history.

I had some Etihad flights post the other day. It took just over 2 months, even with calls and PM's to Velocity.. Just to top it off, all the SC's were posted to my silver membership and haven't counted to requal, so that was another 15 minutes on the phone to try get it sorted.
