I'd give them a day or two... My guess is that they've been caught off guard and the VA operations look like this right now:

If the media right now is correct then even the federal government wasn't told until they heard out like the rest of us.
LOLz, virgin has the best timing for flight, the fiji airway ones leaves 6am, which is way too early.

i already went ahead and book 9 days of hotels in Fiji, so now at the mercy of virgin to bring their flights back online....

From Melbourne they have direct to Nadi 9am flights. Wed & Sat only.

Other days the 6am flights are via BNE.

I don't see any via Syd at this stage.

C/mon VA what's going on??

oh nice, they took out all the flights from other cities gradually yesterday ... seems that they are reinstating those...

VA web site to Fiji is weird.

You can book return flights and one way to Fiji but it doesn't allow you to book one way from Fiji.

I've noticed same....but after days & many times trying it, I found you can book 1 way Fiji to Mel with points (reward seats).
Just can't seem to book a cash 1 way Nadi to Mel.

Little odd. Especially that you can book 1 way getting there. I thought maybe if I called the call centre they'd work it out, but was happy to just book all reward seats returning.

This issue is now fixed.

Next problem is that VA have cancelled their direct NAN-MEL flights. A transit via SYD isn’t pleasant normally and for us, is unacceptable, during Covid times.
We have cancelled our return flight in Jan and have rebooked on FJ.

Our direct Mel - NAN flight in late December is cancelled (rerouted via SYD). Return still shows direct to MEL. Not sure what happens with 72 hours iso if we have to transit on the way home?

Just sidetracking a little.
What are your dates?
Ours are 8 Jan with return 28th Jan.

31 Dec - 10 Jan. Staying at Radisson Denarau.

We booked on 2 different outbound flights (family of four) to use some Points on reward J seats, when I checked to see if any additional seats had opened up and we could fly together, we had all been put on one plane. Now just need to stay COVID free until the 72 hour before leaving test is done, and the arrival test, and the pre return test, and the post return tests, and so on...

Is The House Lounge back open at SYD?
Yes the house is back open but only from 6 to 10pm Tuesday to Sunday which means the VA Fiji flights miss out.

It's also worth noting that the house was previously operated by No1 lounge but is now operated by Swissport, so it's not clear but if the lounge was open VA passenger might not even get access as VA would need to sign a new contract with them.
