Virgin to Fiji 2022

Yes the house is back open but only from 6 to 10pm Tuesday to Sunday which means the VA Fiji flights miss out.

It's also worth noting that the house was previously operated by No1 lounge but is now operated by Swissport, so it's not clear but if the lounge was open VA passenger might not even get access as VA would need to sign a new contract with them.
Boo. Hope it's rectified before I go to Fiji in April.

Well that isn’t ideal. Spending a tad over 4hrs in J with VA isn’t ideal but no lounge on top of that is a deal breaker for sure

You get what you pay for. Virgin Australia's business class ranges from $739 to $975 for the 4 hr flight from SYD to NAN.

If you want lounge access then you'll need to fly Qantas who are charging between $974 and $2354. That's an extra ~$230-$1300 just for a lounge at the start of your trip.

Some Fiji airways flights may depart around a similar time to Qantas departures and may get access to the QF lounge but given I've heard of the QF lounge declining QR business class pax, it seems the current arrangement means the QF first lounge retains it's oneworld policy and the exception is just for those on QF operated services.

Oh absolutely, not disagreeing there. Personally though B737 J seats AND no lounge is probably enough for me to say no thanks for now

FJ to Fiji from MEL mostly goes at 2355 and is red eye. At my age this is worse than VA Y or J.

They got 1 flight every few days, why do it that sheet time, really.

Didn't I read VA not even flying direct to Fiji from Mel for now anyway. Only from SYD.
They were when I was looking to book, but thought they changed it to SYD only.

cheers

Isn't that the best time to get into Nadi (so you can catch all the ferries to the islands)? The SYD VA flights land mid afternoon which means you're stuck for a night in Denerau.

VA just cancelled our flight back from Nadi on the 16th and moved it to the 14th. Not impressed, pretty much at the point now where I'm willing to forfeit all the flight credits and Plat status and leave VA for good.
Assuming January it looks like they're still flying to Melbourne on that day

Via Melbourne doesn't seem like the end of the world assuming you can get a same day connection back up to Sydney. At least it's an easy connection.

Can you get them to rebook you onto QF/FJ?
