Have I missed an announcement? How can Anat0l host 2 in the First Lounge? Chairmans Lounge?

Hmmm....I was wondering why that mistake was kept in there.

I can guest 2 into domestic lounges but only 1 in the international (including F) lounge. There might be 1 or 2 of us flying out of Brisbane who will need guesting, but I know definitely one of those slots will be taken.

Hmmm, after thinking about it for a while.... Count me in. 99% sure I'll make it. Will know for sure by the start of July.

To annoy the Qantas group even further, I'll be flying Virgin.

I'm thinking:

DJ512 Dep OOL 0905 Arr SYD 1035
JQ35 ... Whatever time it is..
DJ761 Dep MEL 2020 Arr OOL 2220

Theres a chance, since I've moved a bit of my travel over to VA, that I won't requalify as a platinum, would I be such a bad person if I asked to be guested in... is there any spots left?

I will do a count and match after work today - but I think that this might be the last available spot.
Will let you know so hang on before you book.

Don't go to much trouble, you would have thought I'd abuse my Platinum F Lounge access while I had the chance.

Hi all, newb here :)

I'm thinking about coming since I'll have just qualified as WP (thanks double status credit promo). So assuming there's no issue getting into the F lounge without an actual platinum card, since I doubt it'll come in time based on what I've read here, I'll have a guest spot.

There should be no issue with getting in without your WP card. Qantas computers know your status and the lounge staff should be able to easily check your credentials.

Convincing the front doorman might be slightly harder (as he doesn't have a computer to check), but I'm sure there won't be dramas there either once you explain.

When I was in the transition, I just took a print out of my current activity statement, that was enough to get past the door gentleman, then the check in girl could clearly see I was WP! 

Just wanted to draw everybodys attention to this:

Qantas and QantasLink Online Check-in Eligibility Table

It says that you can checkin for JQi flights on Qantas.com (Assuming you booked it thru Qantas.com) Is this even true? I've never heard or such a feature...

Does this mean we can avoid the dreaded JQi checkin que at SYD T1

The table which you draw attention to only seems to imply that you can online check-in if you have connecting flights, the first which must be Qantas operated. The second one doesn't seem to matter (except if it is JQ domestic, AU or NZ).

I assume this means both flights must be booked through qantas.com (or a Qantas agent, i.e. using Amadeus, which Jetstar doesn't use).

There's no implication that:
  • You can OLCI for both flights, e.g. you might be able to OLCI for the QF flight, but not the JQ one.
  • If both flights are not on the same ticket (even if you used qantas.com to book them), you can successfully check-in for them.

Oh never fear i'm doing the same (as I did last w/end). I'm taking DJ up and JQ back. No intention of flying QF unless it's 100% necessary from now on :)

(says he sitting in the MEL J Lounge typing this... in my defence I booked this in October last year!).

Domestic passengers still need a manual checkin for the D sticker!

Which they will happily do for you at the international transfer desk as I discovered last week when QF staff in CBR were adamant that D stickers aren't used anymore as they issued by BP for QF19 SYD-BNE.

I do have JQ35 SYD-MEL booked on the same itinerary as a QF CBR-SYD flight for this weekend, so I will report back and let you all know if I manage to get the BP in CBR.

Dont think JQ have staffers at the international transfer desk which will be the issue, pity.....

Aah but if I already have a BP issued in CBR, the transfer desk should just be able to put the sticker on - that's all they did for me last time :)

If they are happy to do something for JQ, which in my experience is rare (and rightly so). Last time you were Qf to QF, different beast when its QF to JQ :)
