Thank you guys :) it can be horrible tagging along not knowing if you'll be shun by the elders of the tribe ;)

I'll probably book an el cheapo fare - gotta go back home that weekend anyway.

Tae, can I add my name to the list for next available guest entry (after whomever is before me) please? :)

No stress if there are no places left... As I said it's just a flight home anyway.

Being Melbourne based I'm happy to have a couple of drinks before going home (me thinks a taxi home rather than long term carpark) if others are interested...

So are Virgin Australia and CrazyDave joining us? *snigger*

Looking forward to meeting you all, and to my *gulp* first JQ domestic flight...

Lawlass' +1 - is this confirmed?

Nope, but thank you very much for the offer. I don't think I'll bring anyone.

Also, Tae, you have me matched with Ewing and have listed nlagelle's spot as 'taken' - his spot is actually taken by me.

So by my maths, that opens up two spots. :)

Looking forward to meeting the new faces, especially other girl ones.

It's actually an international flight, where I've found the crew to be nicer, thanks to their outsourcing ;) although check-in is always a pain!

While I'm here though... I'd previously selected seats for my QF flight on QF507 down to SYD, but now whenever I manage my booking and try to select seats, it gives me an error:

We are not able to display the seat map. Contact us or you can select an aisle or window seat preference. Selecting a seat preference will cause previously requested seats to be lost.

Is anyone else on the same flight also getting this error? I've just skipped it to keep my originally selected seat, but it seems a little odd to me. The next flight in the booking back from MEL works fine.

Does that mean I can be cheeky and snatch up one of those spots? ;)

I've been called girly a couple of times in my life - does that count? :)

Of course - I didn't realise though that the crew were different - fingers crossed. Liam tells me they are more attractive on JQ Int too!

In my experience, thats usually a sign of a equip swap about to happen, someone is in the process of switching the equip now, or it has happened recently. Usually sorts itself out within 24hrs.

Hmm.... also seems that Drewbles has been matched with my +1 that isn't, so there's a plethora of open spots it would seem.

I can still select seats, but it appears that the plane has been changed and all seat allocations reset. (I was moved to row 23).

A bunch of us will be loitering in the QF J lounge in MEL awaiting our flight back to SYD (HMM, BNE-SYD-MEL-SYD, yep we're mad) so guesting you in there will be a breeze.

Even without me flying - or do the old "your guests need not be flying" rules still apply?

Going to be a fun evening by all accounts

*now to implement a buddy system so there is someone to stop me passing the point of no return and being barred from AFF*

Champagne! For everyone!

I'll also likely be cabbing it on arrival in MEL (or perhaps a bit thereafter).

I'll be doing the same. But in the virgin lounge. If I'll be alone in the Virgin Lounge, will I be able to come over to the J lounge and say goodbye there?

awww :)

I'll come over and have a drink with you Liam if you like.... I like our MEL VA lounge anyway... I am sure there will be some people who will want to see the new VA product....

Watch this space ;)

No issues.
As a Platinum Frequent Flyer you can access Domestic Business Lounges or The Qantas Club upon arrival if you have travelled that day on any flight that shows a Qantas, a Jetstar Airline or a oneworld® flight number on your ticket.^ You may also bring two guests, who do not need to be travelling.
(and there's a similar rule for departing)
