Wendouree allocations and general discussion

HI everyone i am new to this site/forum. I am from South Australia and also new to Wendouree wine mailing order allocation. I saw from some websites it will be slightly easier to be on the mailing list if i can mentioned a name / acquaintance from someone here. I am only after a small allocation (one of each type will be great otherwise anything will be perfectly fine). Any assistance from your all here will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Welcome aboard mrengineer, I have not heard this mentioned previously and am not sure it is accurate

I wouldn’t stress too much about it. It really isn’t hard to get on the mailing list. Just write them a letter or give them a call and tell them you want to be added. You may not get an allocation in the first year though, depending on the size of the vintage but should be pretty smooth sailing after that

I don't believe that there is any validity to this.

Look through the messages on this thread (eg Wendouree allocations and general discussion) and you will see that plenty of AFF members have followed the advice set out here by myself and others about how to get on the list. No referral is needed.

Please do report back on your experiences. Unless things have recently radically changed you should be fine.

This year may be a good year to join, potentially millions of Australians will have reduced incomes and that will see much smaller orders (IMO)

Finally got off my clacker and joined up. Got a reply back saying that this vintage will be small, so not promising for new members. They expect next 2 vintages to be much the same as well.

Oh well, I'll shake the tree and see what comes out.

Many producers in Clare and some other areas od SA are reporting yields down 50% or more.

That article talks about vintage 2020, which will be unsurprisingly light on. The next Wendouree vintage released will be 2017, and I thought 2018 was supposed to be a good year in Clare? So I was surprised to hear from them that the next few vintages aren't looking promising.

2017 was released last year

2018 is released this year

I cannot comment on the accuracy of this statistic, however most vintage reports indicated around 10%-14% reduction compared to 2017. Although the quality appears to be good the yields are lower for 2018

No pressings, usual suspects. Ordered a bit of everything. Always send back form ASAP which seems to work for me as black signature. Now the waiting game
