Wendouree allocations and general discussion

Agreed, makes no sense at all and certainly the allocation method does not seem to favour longer standing members. It seems that a colour of the crayon is not a deciding factor.

Colour, state, size of order, roulette wheel......

Expressed the post that day.. I always prebuy the express port letter so I can fill it out and run to the post office for the 4pm mail out.

Got it on the Friday , was in their box on the Monday.

Green Vic - CC just got hit, ordered a mixed 6, amount was $12 less than expected so clearly some substitutes due to no 24b left. Very happy indeed to break my Wendouree duck!!

So strange! They should adopt a Rockford process, seems to work much better with far less frustrated customers. I feel lucky I got something this year but feel for those who have been buying longer.

Vic 5th year green - ordered 3 of each, including muscat. Had my form back on the 15th July. Hit for $508 today, so about a third of my order. Looking forward to see what I get

Agree - the Rockford process does provide more certainty

Well it's obvious they do sell to (some) retailers. 2nd one in town I've see with floor stock. Understand this one gets a decent allocation every year.
They also sell direct to pubs in the Clare.

For another reference point, SA red crayon purchasing since 2014 vintage, card hit Monday, order arrived yesterday...3 cab malbec, 6 shiraz mataro, 6 cab sav. Ordered 6 of all.
Another friend in SA has been on list same length of time, we return orders same day and order same...yet again he received his order in full within weeks or returning form

NSW, red crayon. Been purchasing since 2016 vintage. Ordered 6 of the lot. Yesterday received:

-6 straight cab sav
-6 cab malbec
-6 shiraz mataro
-6 muscat

Like Steady above, but disappointed that I missed out on the Shiraz yet again.

No, not a 3rd year - the 3rd year I haven't got any Shiraz - no problems getting Shiraz the 6-7 years prior, we have been members about the same length of time

The one single bottle of 24B on MW Wine Auctions went for $270 this week.
Also noticed Langtons have 5 bottles of 24B plus plenty of Shiraz Mat, Shiraz Mal, Cabernet, Cab Mal and Shiraz. Always interesting to see how the new release will fair on the secondary market, particularly the 24B.
