Westpac Singapore KrisFlyer Credit Card

is anyone keeping krisflyer platinum card with the introduction of the altitude black card that also has travel insurance?
My annual fee for the Krysflyer plat is much cheaper that the Altitude Black and I am happy to get SQ points.

Just went through another round of discussions with them. They will investigate but it could take another few days for an outcome. They did open a case file and gave me a number to quote so that might reduce the length of the next call.

My points from 4th of May 2014 have not made it across to SQ. Had one fruitful discussion with Westpac where they at first passed me off to SQ who flicked me back to Westpac. After going through all the details again they told me I had to wait at least 14 days for the points to go across. Each month they have appeared within 2 days of my statement date in the past. Anyone else having any issues with a delay ?

Same story here. Mine are due on the 4th of the month. Rang Westpac and was told no problem from their end and points had been transferred to SIA. Rang SIA and was told after a couple of put on holds, that it will take 6 to 8 weeks for the points to be credited. Had no answer when I pointed out this was the first month this had occurred.

I intend to cancel my Westpac KF Plat combo when I return to Melb later this week - the only advantage it has over Black is double pts on SQ purchases for dep ex Aust - as I only ever pay fees at taxes on redemptions then I just can't get value out of it.

The great value was when it was first introduced with double pts for first 3 mths - did we ever milk some pts out of it then. Of course Black now offering same deal of double pts first 3 mths.

Only real disadvantage Westpac SQ Plat combo has for some is pts expiration - pts direct sweep to KF and have 3 year expiry - so if you unlikely to burn then housing in Altitude with Black would be better alternative - but most of you people well understand this already.

Yes it was a great card in it's day and I certainly filled my boots! I canned it when they halved the pts earn of the visa and had to persuade family members to accept flights last year when I had a bag expiring after 3 years
Probably an irrelevance for most now with the better SQ visa earn of the Citi and many getting the WP black free or at a discount for Amex spend with additional point burning options and no expiration?

My business partners have mostly stayed with this card as it costs less and then they use the Woolies EDRCC for a point per dollar MasterCard for their Qantas points.

Same here, I will be canning it also as I'm about to hit the yearly fee again. The free Citi now earns better points, without the need for AMEX! and ridiculous surcharges in Aus. Just need to get the wife sorted for her partner card when I return home to Aus and it will be bye-bye KF Plat!
It was a good run, but this is the way the game works

Big determinant for me is the ATO, Citibank does not pay points for ATO. My ATO points alone justify a bank issued Amex, the only question is which one. This card does it for me, low fee, high earn. Agree the Altitide Black would be good but I dont bank with WBC (and cant really be bothered changing) so cant get the reduced fee.

I also have plenty of places that will accept Amex without surcharge, probably 60% of my spend.

Yes of course, my company recently changed their structure so now they are paying tax automatically for me, no more easy points :(

I wouldn't discount the card for a reduced fee, say $125ish would be about right. I doubt my chances but I guess I'll ask when I ring to cancel

Yes most common places don't surcharge, but it REALLY grinds my gears when some businesses make a point of flouting the rules and jacking up to a massive surcharge..or just flat out refusing AMEX at all.

Just wondering if anybody has managed to get to the bottom iof why miles transfer to KrisFlyer is taking a long time, used to be about 2 days from date of statement....been 3 weeks so far.

I just did a Citi transfer, last time it took two days or so. So if this one doesn't popup in a week then it is a WBC issue I would say.

I notice that the WPC KF statement is no longer showing the foreign transaction charge as a separate line. Personally for me, this makes the statement a lot easier to handle and my staff have many less transactions to reconcile.

Spoke to Westpac this morning. They had received an email from SQ advising that they have a problem with missing points and they have staff rectifying it manually so it will take some time to fix. I thought this might be the case as I sent some over from Citibank and they also did not arrive.

So it's a sq problem, confirmed?
my Citibank points haven't arrived either but it's only been one to two days

Yes SQ have advised Westpac that they have a problem and are working towards fixing it. My Citibank points normally show in a few days and have also gone AWOL.

Good posting savy - gotta love AFF hey? Always get a warm fuzzy feeling inside knowing the spirit of cooperation that exists here at AFF - congrats to ALL posters and to AFF admin for such a great site.

To think this card was one of my first miles earning cards....and I redeemed a Y flight with the points earned.

I've learnt a lot since then!

My points have always transferred within 24 hours of statement issue.
This month it took 4 days, which is not too bad considering others' experiences.
